In the early morning hours of Oct. 29th our Pastor, Steve Jameson, suffered from a major stroke. We are glad for the many answers to prayer for his recovery. We believe that with careful pacing and continued therapy he will soon be back to normal. Meanwhile, we will take a pause in our worship services. Rest assured, this is only a pause. As brothers and sisters in Christ we remain united and celebrate this season of Advent and look forward to our return to group worship.
Peace be with you.

Come join us at Sardis Presbyterian Church for our service on Mothers' Day. The live service starts at 11am Central Sundays. The service is recorded for anytime access.

We seek to honor Jesus in every worship service, and in every sermon. Jesus is the vine and we are the branches.

On May 9th, the sermon will be on John 15: 16-17, where we read,"16 You did not choose me, but I chose you. I appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another."

What does it mean to abide in Christ? Why is abiding in Christ so important?

Reading and Prayer Of Praise

Psalm 105:1 O give thanks to the LORD, call on his name, make known his deeds among the peoples.

Therefore we say …
105:45b Praise the LORD!

105:2 Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wonderful works.

Therefore we say …
105:45b Praise the LORD!

105:3 Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.

Therefore we say …
105:45b Praise the LORD!

105:4 Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually.

Therefore we say …
105:45b Praise the LORD!

105:5 Remember the wonderful works he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered,

Therefore we say …
105:45b Praise the LORD!

105:6 O offspring of his servant Abraham, children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

105:45b Praise the LORD!

Faithful God, Perfect Trinity,
you are the hope of all the oppressed,
and the source of freedom for those held captive.
By sin, by skin, by oppressors and opposition.

In these tumultuous days of
Unpleasant pandemic and
Unprecedented protests and violence,
Remind us through your presence,
Father, Son and Spirit,
Great Triune God,
That you ordain
Peace and justice,
Love and mercy,
Freedom and fellowship.

Through your presence and Your Word
This morning,
make us strong every day
to see your liberating power,
your love without limits,
your reconciling grace,
Your plan for peace.

Teach us today to show your mercy
through our generosity with both life and goods,
And through our humility of spirit
as we seek to be reconciled
With neighbors from whom we are divided.
May we do this, Lord -
MAY WE DO THIS RECONCILING -
through your power and through Jesus Christ,
Your Son and our risen savior.
Through your love and with your grace.

May all the world delight in your goodness.
Teach us to witness in the Name of Jesus,
we pray,
Amen.
