Yesterday, Pastor Ryan finished our journey through the book of Ruth by walking us through Ruth 4:18–22 and a powerful reminder: God is always working, even when we can’t see the whole story.

Ruth’s story didn’t end with loss, hardship, or uncertainty. God was writing something far greater than she could have imagined—and her story became part of a much bigger story that ultimately points us to Jesus.

Whatever season you find yourself in, remember: The story isn’t over. God is still working, still faithful, and still writing your story for His glory.

What do we do when God feels completely silent? Ruth 4 reminds us that God’s silence is never the same as God’s absence. Even when we cannot see what He is doing, we can trust that He is working, providing, and weaving every detail together for His purposes.

Have you ever felt like God is completely silent in your life? Like He is absent in your hardest moments? This week we read Ruth 4:13-17, and the message was clear: God's silence is never absence.

In the book of Ruth, God is barely mentioned by name, yet His fingerprints are on everything. He worked through Ruth's faithfulness, Boaz's integrity, and Naomi's pain to accomplish something far greater than any of them could have imagined. Naomi declared herself empty in Ruth 1 -- but God was not finished writing her story.

Whatever you are walking through right now, God is still working. You may not see the end of the story yet, and you may never fully understand why. But our hope is not in the outcome -- it is in Him.

Join us next week as we close out the book of Ruth and see just how much bigger God's plan was than anyone involved could have dreamed.

Yesterday at Bethel, we continued our journey through Ruth 4:13–17 and were reminded of a powerful truth: God can be completely silent and still be completely active.

Naomi couldn’t see what God was doing in the middle of her pain. She thought she had come home empty, but God was already working through the people and circumstances around her. Ruth’s faithfulness, Boaz’s obedience, and even the seemingly ordinary moments were all part of a greater plan.

Sometimes we want God to show us the whole story before we trust Him. But Ruth reminds us that we don’t have to see the whole picture to know that God is working.

God’s silence is not God’s absence.
Pain is not final.
Don’t judge God’s work before He’s finished.

If you’re walking through a season where you can’t see what God is doing, keep trusting Him. He may be working in ways you can’t see yet.

In Ruth 4, we see Boaz step forward as Ruth and Naomi’s redeemer, willingly paying the cost to restore and care for them. Through this powerful picture of redemption, we are reminded of Christ, who paid the ultimate price to redeem us, adopt us into God’s family, and seal us as His own.

Our worth is not found in what we have done, but in the love of the One who chose to redeem us. If you’ve never accepted Christ’s redemption, don’t wait—come to Him today and trust in His grace.

Last Sunday in Ruth 3, we saw Boaz promise to act as redeemer—and Naomi trusted that he would not rest until the matter was settled. What a picture of the greater Redeemer, Jesus Christ, who has secured our redemption and will bring it to completion.

This Sunday, we continue in **Ruth 4:1–12** as Boaz goes to the city gate to settle the matter.

Come ready to consider:
- Why did the nearer redeemer initially agree to redeem the land but then refuse when Ruth was included?
- What does the exchange of the sandal symbolize in this passage?
- How does Boaz’s willingness to pay the cost of redemption point us to Jesus Christ?

Ruth 3 reminds us that faith waits—not because the outcome is uncertain, but because we trust the character and promises of our Redeemer.

Boaz gave Ruth a tangible sign that he intended to complete the redemption. In an even greater way, Christ has already accomplished our redemption through His death and resurrection. The price has been paid, the work is finished, and yet we still wait for the fullness of what has been promised.

Watch yesterday’s message from Ruth 3 and consider what it means to live with confidence in a redemption that has already been purchased, while patiently waiting for its final fulfillment.

“Our greater Boaz has already gone to the cross and paid the price and he declared it is finished. The redemption has been purchased, and now we wait.”
