Chabad Lubavitch Of Sarasota & Manatee Counties

Chabad Lubavitch Of Sarasota & Manatee Counties Our philosophy is to respect, appreciate and educate Jewish families regardless of background. We continually seek new ways to interest Jews in Judaism.

Our philosophy remains surprisingly simple: Love every Jew, educate every Jew, and reach out to every Jew. We open our arms and our hearts to all, regardless of education or background. That’s a commitment we have honored throughout the greater Sarasota–Manatee area since November 1990 when the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, sent Rabbi Chaim & Sara Steinmetz as his emissaries to

Sarasota. You won’t find us talking about concepts: we bring them to life. We personally welcome you to join us at any of our stimulating Torah classes, Synagogue Services, and year round family activities.

As we concluded the 7-part Rosh Chodesh Society course, Lift Your Life, we reflected on what a meaningful and inspiring journey this has been together. Throughout the series, women explored practical tools for living with greater purpose, emotional balance, faith, happiness, healthier communication, and spiritual growth, while taking on meaningful resolutions to bring greater inner peace, perspective, and a higher vantage point to everyday life.

The Chabad Women’s Circle continues to be a beautiful place for women to grow spiritually, create new friendships, strengthen old ones, and support one another in a warm and welcoming environment.

In addition to our women’s track, we also offer a special Moms’ Rosh Chodesh Society track that meets monthly from November through May.

For this month’s sponsorships, we are grateful to Jo Ellyn Weisman for being an Impact Sponsor, and to Irina Lane and Ilana Gordon for being Event Sponsors.

We are also thankful to our wonderful volunteers who helped make these gatherings meaningful and welcoming: Mindy Bloom, Natasha Serebro, Elizabeth Weber, Paige Jones, Julia Aaron, Melissa Malka, and Marie Hannum.

While the Torah teaches us to honor and respect our parents every day, Mother’s Day offers an opportunity to pause and express extra gratitude to the mothers and motherly figures whose love, sacrifice, patience, encouragement, and devotion help shape our homes, families, and future generations. Today we celebrate and appreciate all that you do, often quietly and selflessly, each and every day.

For those whose mothers have passed, today can also be a meaningful time to reflect on the enduring power, influence, and love of a mother. And for those who’ve experienced difficult relationships with their mothers, perhaps today can be a time to contemplate the profound impact a mother has, and the importance of bringing greater love, understanding, compassion, and nurturing into the relationships and circles around us.

Yesterday’s Lag B’omer celebration of unity at Siesta Key Beach was a beautiful evening that brought friends and community together. Participants enjoyed a relaxed and joyful atmosphere with a falafel dinner, a fun watermelon hunt, a lively drum circle, a traditional Lag B’omer beach fire, and, of course, wonderful camaraderie.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Kirk and Jo Ellyn Weisman for sponsoring this special event.

A sincere thank you to our dedicated volunteers who helped make the evening so meaningful: Gabriel Amram, Bri Collingwood, Ellie Cohen, Paige Jones, Malka, Melissa, Shalom Plotnik, Max Serebro, Natasha Serebro, Mark Schlanger, Matan Zorde, Ella Zorde.

It was truly a night of connection, joy, and unity.

Last night’s women’s Rosh Chodesh Society event, which was centered on the theme of Faith and Logic in Our Divine Relationship, was truly heartwarming. Participants left feeling inspired to tap into the faith within and use it to stay grounded, even when life feels chaotic.

The monthly Rosh Chodesh Society gatherings provide meaningful time not only to learn, but to connect, socialize, and nurture the mind, heart, body, and soul.

Our next and final session for this year will take place on Thursday, May 14 at 7:00 pm. To register, please visit:

Yesterday’s Health Symposium, titled AI and My Health, held at Michael's on East, brought together close to 200 participants for an engaging and informative program. Attendees had the opportunity to hear from renowned speakers in their respective fields, each offering valuable insight into the evolving role of AI in healthcare.

We were honored to host Rabbi Joshua Krisch, Dr. Scott Perrin, Dr. Ryan Harvey, and Dr. Elliot Chaikoff. Each speaker was truly outstanding, delivering thoughtful and captivating presentations.

A special thank you to Dr. Barry Stein for spearheading this meaningful event and for serving as the program moderator with such professionalism and care.

We are deeply grateful to our generous sponsors: Aviva Senior Living Community, Judy Schwartzbaum, Bay Village, Friendship Centers, Seniors Blue Book, Plymouth Harbor, Family Practice Associates, Patient First Home Care, The Alloro at University Groves, Sarasota Memorial Hospital Foundation, and ActivAge Sarasota.

We are also grateful to Michael’s on East for hosting this event and for providing participants with a delectable kosher lunch.

Last night, moms of children ages 0–8 gathered for a delightful and thought-provoking Rosh Chodesh Society class titled Logic & Faith in Our Divine Relationship. Led by Sara Steinmetz, the class offered practical and accessible ways to strengthen our connection with Hashem and deepen our faith, something many of us continue to work on throughout our lives.

The evening included a light dinner, sweets, and a hands-on demonstration of how to make easy Israeli-style dips. The Rosh Chodesh Society MOM’s track is a beautiful space not only for learning, but also for building meaningful friendships with other moms of young children.

The next and final session for the 2026–27 year will take place on Thursday, May 7 at 7:00 pm, with the topic: Freeing and Implementing Our Potential.

If you’re a mom looking for a night out and a place that will nurture your heart, mind, body, and soul, we would love to have you join us. Please register here:
