Of this I am convinced that most believers do not pray enough nor aright. As I have delved more deeply into God's words on prayer and associated teachings, I am discovering that my heart has not comprehended the depth of the relationship with God, the Creator or the Universe and the Savior of my soul, which is essential to effective and spiritual praying. The discipline of prayer requires that I fill my head and my heart with divine truths and perspectives which govern my conversations with a holy and righteous Father who loves to give good gifts to His children but loves more the communion and fellowship that prayer affords. I too often seek the gift and not the Giver. Prayer is a means of knowing my Heavenly Father intimately as we walk and talk, and I mostly listen. I attribute my new appreciation of the marvel of a rich prayer life to the way Andrew Murray takes the words of Scripture and illuminates my understanding. My heart know his words ring true and I am elevated to new heights of glory, the vistas of which leave me speechless.
Why do I tell you this? Not to impress. I am just learning how to crawl in prayer, but to stimulate you to want to know what you may be missing in this wonderful calling we call prayer or intercession. The work of Central Missions International is becoming centered in prayer. Yet we lack prayer warriors. Few have answered the call to come and pray. What I am asking is that you step into a new environment, a place of exploration coupled with the special needs of those in faraway places who depend on the answers and supply of God who hears our prayers ascend to Him. Much is at stake! Orphans and widows cared for, sinners saved, churches strengthened. The needs are nearly overwhelming as many of their cries to the Father are shared with me. I need prayer partners. The burdens are too heavy to bear alone. I need your agreement in prayer and encouragement.
Our next Prayer Watch is Wednesday, August 26 at 12:00 Noon ET. It is an online meeting. The link: https://meet.google.com/ien-ceva-ehu
