If you are deconstructing your faith, we welcome you, as we are on a similar journey. Our heart is for the community of Sarasota to experience church in a whole new way. We want to cultivate a body of believers and people who are actively pastoring our city by removing the chains of religious control and church hierarchy. We believe that God is calling His people (not just the five-fold ministry),

to be the practical love of Jesus to the world around them. We LOVE ALL without any fine print. That’s right ALL! YES! DEMOCRAT? REPUBLICAN? ADDICTS? BROKEN? ATHIEST? You get the point! There is no “bait and switch” here at Harvest. Deconstruction is beautiful, especially when you know you aren’t alone. We consider ourselves a fully inclusive and affirming church for the LGBTQ+ community and believe that our LGBTQ friends deserve the same access to God as anyone else. No matter where you are in your journey of life and faith, Harvest is a place where the love is louder and the light is brighter! We miss you even if we have yet to meet! We are incredibly excited to welcome Stan Mitchell back to Harvest Sarasota!

On Sunday, September 20, Stan Mitchell will join us as our guest speaker for what promises to be a powerful and thought-provoking morning.

Stan is a pastor, author, and speaker known for challenging people to think more deeply about faith, grace, inclusion, and what it means to create communities where people can truly be seen. His voice has encouraged countless people to reconsider the boundaries we sometimes place around God’s love, and to imagine a faith that makes room for the full humanity of every person.

Whether you’ve been part of Harvest for years, are exploring faith again after some time away, or simply want to hear a perspective that might challenge and encourage you, this is a Sunday you won’t want to miss.

Last Sunday, Dr. Essence Deming-Rivers reminded us that faith was never meant to be a performance of getting everything right.

There is freedom in releasing the pressure to be perfect. Freedom to grow. Freedom to question. Freedom to change. Freedom to become more fully who we were created to be.

Thank you, Essence, for bringing such a powerful and needed message to Harvest Sarasota. 💛

Last Friday, Heart to Art took us back to a classic! Our group spent the evening making old-fashioned loom potholders, and, as always, the best part wasn’t just what we created, but the time we spent creating together.

There’s something special about slowing down, trying something with your hands, sharing some laughs, and connecting with the people around you. ❤️

A huge thank you to Tia Souders for leading us and helping make another Heart to Art gathering such a fun and meaningful evening!

Before Cheryl Carty became an accomplished dancer, choreographer, arts educator, and Radio City Rockette, she was a young girl who discovered in dance a place of freedom, purpose, and possibility.

Her remarkable journey has taken her from studying at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts to performing at Radio City Music Hall, directing award-winning local productions, and helping establish Manatee School for the Arts, where she has spent decades opening doors for the next generation.

But behind every accomplishment is a deeper story: the people who believed in her, the obstacles she overcame, and the moments that shaped who she became.
