Salt Strong Member Care Salt Strong exists to offer member care, especially for Single Women. Salt Strong provides a place where Jesus can enrich the flavor of the salt of the earth.

Salt Strong exists to help fill in the gaps of member care, especially for Single Women in Global or Intercity work. Leave dredges of your trenches behind, and come on down to soak up Jesus in the Sunny South Salt Life of Sarasota. Try saying that really fast with a Southern accent!;)

6/20: World Refugee Day
"It would take a whole encyclopedia series of books to document all the stories of what I experienced as I became a refugee." - my friend as she talked about her life

The official 2023 # is over 100 million refugees/IDPs(Internally Displaced People), but by approximate stats from host countries I have visited, it's not uncommon to have 2-4 undocumented refugees for every one that has a #. 41% are under 18 years old.

The world is on the move. The crowds have only gotten bigger. And the stories have gotten crazier. Pirates, boats returned to sea, politics and policies, and lives being upturned by the thousands. It's overwhelming.

Invest in a few people who are very different from yourself. It will drastically change your life. And that my friends, is an understatement of the amazing things that can happen.

The types of topics I like to research might be very different from yours. Today highlights the refugees who have become an important part of my life story. At least once a year, take the time to honor and reflect on the people who have most impacted you, and honor them. Do your version of Refugee Day.

Umbrellas are a necessity for life in Asia. Not as much for rain, as for the sun and let's be real, people. If you are angry or crying, umbrellas are a perfect shield or security blanket.;) For some reason, I know.
Recently I have been processing the "umbrellas" I reach for when life feels out of control. Some people just make a dash in the rain and get wet for a minute. I'm too "Asian" to not have an umbrella. For you Americans that means I know the local 'rules' enough to people please and/or I don't want to be scolded for something. I do all the right things, and hide behind them. Anyone else relate to that?!??
In and of themselves, umbrellas are good things. But sometimes it is better to just make a dash and not deal with a clumsy piece of nylon.
Take some time to think about your 'umbrella' collection.
