This Sunday's Service!
Small Things, Great Love

May 31, 2026

St. Teresa of Calcutta said, “Don't look for big things, just do small things with great love.” Over the past few months, we have heard about the values we share as Unitarian Universalists: justice, equity, transformation, pluralism, interdependence, and generosity. They sound so big and grand, yet all of them are connected to, and expressions of, something very personal, even intimate: love. How does putting love into practice look in our daily lives?

Relatable?

UUs are very good at holding complexity.

We can affirm many ways to move through the world, connect to the sacred, or sing a beloved hymn… and still hold firm to the precise dishwasher loading diagram everyone should follow when using the congregation’s kitchen. 😄

That’s the beauty of our shared UU community life: we may not have perfect agreement, but we can be our best imperfect selves practicing how to live together with care, intention, and respect for one another.

Memorial Day invites many kinds of remembrance.

Today, we hold gratitude and care for all who served in the military, including the many Unitarian Universalists who gave of themselves in service to their country and communities. We honor those who died in war and military service, and the loved ones who carry their memory forward.

We also hold close the immeasurable human cost of violence—lives lost, families changed forever, communities shattered, and generations shaped by grief.

Veterans For Peace calls for a deeper kind of remembrance: one that resists turning this day into a celebration of militarism and instead asks us to reckon honestly with the human cost of war.

At a time when war and suffering continue across the globe, may we remember that every life carries inherent worth and dignity. And may we continue the work of building communities grounded in compassion, justice, and peace.

The Long Journey Towards Hope

May 24, 2026

This Sunday we explore the long journey towards hope of LGBTQIA+ people. We start back in the age of legally sanctioned discrimination when coming out meant loss of employment and family relationships. We move forward to today when coming out generally isnʻt the challenge it once was. Weʻll trace the journey for marriage equality and learn how weʻre still catching up to full acceptance. Join us in the RE wing afterwards for a meet and greet where you can share your story.

Worship Associate: Rev. Amy Zucker Morgenstern

Sunday, May 17, 2026

Bring a flower and join us for our annual Flower Communion service, a multigenerational celebration of beauty, diversity, and community! This year, by remembering the origins of this beloved Unitarian Universalist tradition, we will reclaim its power as a collective ritual of resistance and resilience. Expanding our focus to include not only the flowers, but also the surrounding muck, we celebrate joy and beauty in the midst of hardship. As the Zen Buddhist saying goes, “no mud, no lotus!” Come, let’s draw strength for these times, in community!

Children are invited to stay for the service; there will be no Religious Education classes.

If you're joining us by Zoom, we invite you to have a flower(s) nearby so you can participate from home.

Planting Seeds of Justice

Sunday, May 10, 2026

While human rights and international aid are under attack, it’s easy to feel like change is impossible. The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee’s (UUSC) partners, however, know first-hand that justice doesn’t just appear overnight. The movement for collective liberation requires ongoing, diligent tending and long-haul commitment. Please join Rev. Dr. Sheri Prud’homme to hear some of the inspiring stories from UUSC’s partners – grassroots movement leaders and activists around the world – and to hear her conversion story from lukewarm supporter to enthusiastic champion of UUSC’s work.

Seeking Compassion & Building Resilience in Challenging Times

Sunday, April 26, 2026

How can we find or seek compassion during these challenging times in our world? How can we build resilience when fear, instability, and uncertainty prevent us from attaining fullness of life? InterPlay helps us seek compassion and build resilience. Its co-founders Cynthia Winton-Henry and Phil Porter emphasize that InterPlay “promotes community, creativity, and change.” InterPlay is a performance art, which uses dance, theater, music, comedy, improvisation, ritual, and spirit, to help balance body, mind, heart, and spirit.
