🙏 SUNDAY AT THE SALVATION ARMY SANTA MONICA CORPS 🙏

What an incredible Sunday as we continued our sermon series, “From Who I Am to Whose I Am.”

Today’s message, led by Lt. David Aviles, came from Daniel 1:3–21 and was titled:

🔥 “WHAT WILL I SETTLE FOR?” 🔥

Daniel and his friends found themselves in a place where everything around them was trying to change their identity—their names, their culture, their habits, and even what they believed. But Daniel made a decision that he would not compromise who he belonged to.

The question for us is: What are we willing to settle for?

When we know WHOSE we are, we don’t have to settle for what the world puts in front of us. We can stand firm, remain faithful, and trust that God will honor our obedience. 🙌

We were also grateful to welcome the men from the Salvation Army Santa Monica ARC for our United Chapel. It is always a blessing to worship together, hear the Word of God, and be reminded of the power of transformation, restoration, and new beginnings. ❤️🛡️

We would love for YOU and your family to join us every Sunday!

What a powerful Sunday at The Salvation Army Santa Monica Corps! 🙌❤️

Today, our Senior Soldier and Corps Assistant, Jesus Flores, had the privilege of sharing the Word of God from Judges 6:11–16, looking at the story of Gideon and asking the powerful question:

“Am I Living Like Who I Am?”

What an amazing blessing it was to hear Jesus share from his heart and watch the Lord use his testimony and His Word to remind us that God sees more in us than we sometimes see in ourselves. Just as God called Gideon a mighty warrior before Gideon could see it, God knows who He created and called us to be.

One of the most beautiful moments was seeing people come forward in response to the message, kneeling in prayer and seeking the Lord. 🙏🔥 God is moving!

We are grateful for our worship team for leading us into His presence and for everyone who joined us today.

❤️ Our community is always welcome! If you’re looking for a church family, a place to grow, or simply somewhere to hear a message of hope, we invite you to join us for our next Sunday service at The Salvation Army Santa Monica Corps. Come as you are—there is a place for you here.

🎬🍿 Movie Day with Our Silvercrest Seniors! ❤️

Today, The Salvation Army Santa Monica Corps had the joy of welcoming our wonderful Silvercrest seniors for a special Movie Day! We watched the classic The Sandlot, popped fresh popcorn, shared some laughs, and simply enjoyed being together.

These moments are about so much more than watching a movie. They’re about fellowship, connection, laughter, and loving on our seniors. ❤️ It is always a blessing to spend time with them, hear their stories, see their smiles, and remind them how valued and loved they truly are.

We are grateful for every opportunity God gives us to build relationships and serve our community. This is what community looks like!

What a powerful and blessed Sunday at The Salvation Army Santa Monica Corps! 🙌❤️

Our service began with amazing worship led by our worship team, preparing our hearts to receive the Word God had for us. 🎶🙏

Lt. David Aviles brought a powerful message from Luke 15:11–24, the story of the Prodigal Son, reminding us that Jesus is the One who offers us grace.

One of the most powerful moments of the message was Lt. David’s illustration of how sometimes we wear our past like clothes. He put on a shirt covered with the things we can struggle with and carry—our mistakes, shame, guilt, failures, addictions, regrets, and the labels we or others have placed on us.

Sometimes we wear those things for so long that we begin to believe that’s who we are.

But then came the powerful picture of GRACE. 🙌

Lt. David ripped that shirt off, reminding us that through Jesus, our past does not get the final word. Our mistakes do not define us. Our shame does not own us.

We are HIS. ❤️

Just like the father welcomed the prodigal son home, God doesn’t look at us and only see where we’ve been—He sees His child. His grace covers us, His love restores us, and He reminds us who we truly belong to.

Grace doesn’t just change what we’ve done—it reminds us whose we are.

📖 “For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.” — Luke 15:24

We are so grateful for another Sunday of worship, fellowship, and a message that reminded us of the incredible grace of Jesus!

❤️ Come grow with us every Sunday!

❤️ Loving on Our Seniors at Silvercrest 🎤🎶

Yesterday, The Salvation Army Santa Monica Corps had the privilege of spending some wonderful time with our seniors at The Salvation Army Silvercrest Senior Living. We enjoyed an afternoon filled with karaoke, singing, laughter, smiles, and great fellowship! 🎵❤️

Moments like these remind us how important it is to love on our seniors, spend time with them, listen to them, and remind them how valued they truly are. Sometimes the greatest gift we can give someone is simply our presence.

Seeing the joy on their faces and hearing how grateful they were for our visit was a blessing to us as well. The truth is, we went there hoping to brighten their day, but they ended up brightening ours. 🙏

We are grateful for every opportunity God gives us to serve our community across every generation. Our seniors have so much wisdom, history, and love to share, and they deserve to know that they are seen, appreciated, and loved.

Thank you to our Silvercrest family for allowing us to share such a beautiful time together. We can’t wait for the next one! ❤️🎤

Doing the most good means showing up, sharing love, and reminding people that they matter.

❤️ THIS IS WHAT HOPE LOOKS LIKE! ❤️

Today we received a beautiful thank-you card that reminds us why the work of The Salvation Army Hope Team matters so much.

One of the greatest blessings of outreach is being able to help people reconnect with family members they may have lost contact with. Sometimes what begins as meeting someone on the streets, listening to their story, and offering support becomes something much bigger—a family reunited, relationships restored, and hope renewed.

Our Hope Team continues to meet people where they are, walk alongside them through difficult circumstances, and remind them that they are seen, valued, and loved. Moments like this show that the work isn’t just about providing services—it’s about people, families, restoration, and hope.

We are incredibly grateful for our Hope Team and everyone who partners with us to make these moments possible.

God is so good! 🙏❤️ He is still restoring relationships, opening doors, and bringing families back together.

*“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

Dinah knows first-hand the challenges that come with being a single parent.

She tried her best to juggle work, school and her daughter’s needs, but her income just couldn’t keep up. But thanks to donors like you, The Salvation Army stepped in right when she needed us. Now, without worrying about affording the basics, Dinah can focus on her future and give her daughter a better life.

Just one gift is enough to transform a life like Dinah’s. Send ❤️ to another hardworking single parent today: salarmy.us/transform-fb26
