About 20 SMS congregants had a meaningful discussion tonight talking about time pieces and the passage of time in relation to Living With Mortality led by congregant, Dr Donald Schultz.

And now the party begins.... The SMS Fundraiser.
Lights turned on the silent auction tables, Fred and Mary at the sign in table welcoming our guests, Champagne circle begins with appetizers and ofcourse Champagne, music with Michael playing guitar, a bass too while Rabbi Shira sings and ofcourse schmoozing. It took a village to plan, set up, run and break down everywhere. We thank everyone who attended, bid on silent & live auctions, our founders of the SMS, our Rabbi, and everyone on the fundraiser committee including those who donated and went out to get all those donations and made all the gift baskets. This event couldn't have happened with the many volunteers who stepped up to help. We hope everyone had a FABULOUS time.

Set up for the Santa Monica Synagogues fundraiser went up quick and easy. The silent auction which had so many items this year, more than last year was very quick. Decorations, many who helped, we're beautiful in an Asian theme and really helped brighten up this room. With so many who volunteered at set up ,we thank and appreciate all of you. Our little Synagogue can do anything when we all step up.

Santa Monica Synagogues Passover Seder was a HUGE success with over 50 people in attendance. Food was catered by Brents and was absolutely delicious. Most of us were full after the Matzah Ball soup with the biggest Matzah Ball you'd ever seen. The Matzah Blintz was almost completely gone, and the Chocolate toffee Matzah was very yummy. A grand time was had by all. Thank you to Mary and all the helpers before, during and after.

Very fun Purim Shpiel at the Santa Monica Synagogue. Rabbi Shira, along with her husband, our current SMS president, several past presidents,
and other congregants kept us laughing as they told the story of Purim in a unique Megillah reading.
