SUNDAY MESSAGE RECAP — BUILDING ON A STRONG FOUNDATION
Every house needs a foundation.
So does our spiritual life.
Jesus is our Chief Cornerstone. When our lives are built on Him and rooted in His Word, we become strong enough to withstand the storms of life.
“The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.” — Psalm 118:22
“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 3:11
The Word of God is not optional — it’s essential.
What’s optional will never become foundational.
The Parable of the Sower reminds us that the condition of our soil matters.
How we retain the Word matters.
Healthy roots only come through consistency.
A tree survives storms because its roots are established. It has remained planted.
Being planted in the Word and in the House of God brings:
• fellowship
• discipleship
• growth
• strength
• community
We must ask ourselves:
Are we advancing spiritually the same way we try to advance every other area of our lives?
Hebrews 5 warns us not to remain spiritually immature, constantly restarting instead of growing deeper. God desires maturity, consistency, and transformation in us.
Three foundational truths from Sunday’s message:
The Word of God
Be hungry for the Word. Hear it, obey it, continue in it.
Congregating Regularly
There is power in gathering in His presence. In His sanctuary we encounter Him, repent, are restored, and are commissioned.
Living for Righteousness
We were once wandering sheep, but now we have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of our souls. (1 Peter 2:24-25)
The Lord wants us deeply rooted, spiritually mature, and firmly planted.
Allow the Word not only to inform you but to transform you.
