When work becomes your identity, it becomes your prison. Only when God is truly God in your life will you find freedom from the exhaustion of always needing more

You probably don’t think of your job as worship. Most of us don’t.

But the first time the Bible uses the word for work, it shares its root with the word for worship. And it shows up before the fall, not after it. Work was never the punishment. It was part of the calling.

So here is what worshipful work can look like. It fulfills what God started in creation. It shows the world how worthy you believe He is. It carries His integrity into rooms where no one is checking. It blesses the people around you and not only your own bottom line. And it makes Him known right where you already are.

You don’t need a burning bush. You have already been called. The only question is how He wants to use you there.

And here is the freedom in it. Jesus already did the work that saves you. So you can stop working for your worth and start working from it. When Jesus is your life, you can enjoy the rest of your life.

Save this for the next hard Monday. And send it to someone who needs to hear that their work matters to God.
