HURRICANE MELISSA UPDATE 🌀 | Thank you for continuing to pray alongside our brothers and sisters in the Caribbean in the midst of Hurricane Melissa. 🙏 Impact assessments, complicated by downed communication systems, are being taken today by local leadership in Jamaica. Rev. Courtney Gordon, Executive Chairman for the Church of God in Jamaica, has shared that communities along the southwest coastline—including Church of God congregations in Clarendon, Manchester, St. Elizabeth, and Westmoreland—have experienced significant loss and damages. More details will be known soon as leaders visit these communities, and others, across the island today.

Beyond 🇯🇲 Jamaica, Church of God Ministries Disaster Relief remains in communication with leaders in 🇨🇺 Cuba, 🇭🇹 Haiti, and other islands in the Caribbean to assess needs and formulate responses through local believers, as needed. Please pray especially for our Church of God family in Cuba, who was already suffering from a severe vector-borne disease outbreak, likely to be made worse by the storm’s rains and floods. 💔
