Thanks everybody for the birthday greetings. I’m in the Lord’s strength time zone now. Psa 90 says, “ the days of our lives are three score and 10 or even by reason of strength four score, but their span is but toil and trouble, they are soon gone, and we fly away.” I am praying that as my days on earth get shorter that I would give myself to those things that are eternal, and not frivolous.

The demonic probe hit within the first few minutes of being awake. The thought came: "You're going to stumble and fall today, look at p**n and give in to lust..." It was a declarative statement of fact. It was also a LIE from the enemy, a challenge, a dare... The enemy was putting thoughts into my mind, a form of temptation.
I immediately started praying.
One of my favorite 'one-verse-prayers' is Psalm 119: 133 'Keep steady my steps according to thy promise, and let NO iniquity get dominion over me...'
I prayed this verse and kept praying it throughout the day. Father, please protect me. I take this thought captive to the obedience of Jesus. I give my mind, soul, spirit, and body to YOU today, please protect me, sustain me and fill me with your Spirit and your presence. Strengthen me to fight against SIN in whatever form it takes. Help me to walk in a manner pleasing to you today.

Every day I get assaulted with some kind of impure thought or temptation. One of the immediate things that I do is to pray Psalms 141:4 "Incline not my heart to any evil, to busy myself with wicked deeds in company with men who work iniquity; and let me not eat of their dainties!"
When I recognize that I am contemplating evil, thinking about sinning, this verse has become my current 'go to' verse. I encourage you to look it over and memorize it. When tempted, immediately quote it to yourself. Use it as a springboard to pray, to call out to God for help. Father, incline not my heart to ANY EVIL, spare me, protect me, and help me to walk with you in purity and blamelessness.

Happy New Year!
I think of this passage every birthday and every change of years.
Psa 90: 9 For all our days pass away under thy wrath, our years come to an end like a sigh.
10 The years of our life are threescore and ten, or even by reason of strength fourscore; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.
11 Who considers the power of thy anger, and thy wrath according to the fear of thee?
12 So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.
Prayer for the New Year: God, please give us hearts of wisdom. And, Lord, please teach us to number our days.

1 Cor 10:13 "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man, but God is faithful and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation, will also provide the way of escape that you may be able to endure it." So many promises connected with this verse. The first is this, "YOU ARE NOT ALONE". Everything you are tempted with, every other person is tempted with in a similar way. Satan would have us think differently. Satan says, "No body is like you. You are the only one. Don't believe the lie...

Thank you for your prayers over the past two months. It’s been a full and fruitful time of ministry. I’ve done conferences in Detroit, Hollister CA, Grand Rapids MI, and TODAY in Whidbey Island WA. Military folks from 3-4 bases will be in attendance. The seminar title is Pure Living in a P**n Filled World.

Please pray for anointing. I’m going ‘old-school’ today, NO power points, simply using a whiteboard and markers.

If all goes well technologically, it will be on Zoom. The Zoom link is below. The seminar starts at 10:00 CA time, 1:00 East Coast time. We’ll go a couple of hours, then break for lunch, then resume, ending at 3:00 Pacific Time.

Hope some folks can join us.

Blessings

Bob

I recently spoke at an Every Man a Warrior 'kick off' retreat near Salt Lake City. About 45 men attended. After I shared my testimony, at least 10 men came up to me and said, "My story was their story..." They had had the same experience with p**nography and enslavement as I had had. The scriptures are clear, in Rev 12 it says, "They slew him (Satan) by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony..." Bottom line: share your testimony of Jesus' deliverance, help, encouragement, etc.

Psa 51:4 "Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in thy sight, so that thou art justified in thy sentence
and blameless in thy judgment."
I struggle with this verse. What does David mean, "Against Thee, Thee only have I sinned?" He certainly sinned against Uriah, whom he had killed. He sinned against Bathsheba, using his position and power to seduce her. Commentaries said that as the King, he was accountable to God. God had appointed David and entrusted him to be a righteous ruler. It was to God that he was accountable.
David keys in on the righteous judgment of God. David wrote and knew that nothing is hidden from the sight of God. We know from Scripture that God judges every word that comes out of our mouths. He knows every thought, even before we think it. He also knows our MOTIVES and the secret things that others don't know. When God judges, it's always right, fair, and just. This is why it's a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of a living God. The Psalmist said, "My flesh trembles for fear of Thee, and I'm afraid of Thy judgments." O God who sees all and knows all, I plead with you for mercy. Please don't give me what I deserve.

Psalm 51:3 "For I know my trangressions and my sin is ever before me..." David is expressing the reality of the conscious, awfulness of sin and especially, sexual sin. His sin was in front of his mind's eye 24/7. He could not escape. Not only do we have the marvelous capability to remember things with our minds, but we have an enemy of our souls that will bring to our remembrance our sins, our trangressions and our iniquities. The accuser of the brethren will then attack us with slanders, condemnation, accusation and whisper that we are dumb, stupid, and call us names like: hypocrite, loser, failure, unworthy, etc.
1 Cor. 6:18 says to "shun immorality. Every other sin which a man commits is outside the body; but the immoral man sins against his own body." There is NO OTHER SIN LIKE SEXUAL SIN. This is the agony of David's heart. "For I know my transgressions and my sin is ever before me." It becomes a heavy, dead weight that continually presses down on our souls. This is what David was experiencing.
O the greatness of our God who is MERCIFUL and GRACIOUS, SLOW TO ANGER and ABOUNDING IN STEADFAST LOVE and FAITHFULNESS.

Psalms 51:1,2..."blot out my trangressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin." When you sin sexually, you just simply feel DIRTY. It's a deeper form of dirty, it's a defilement and staining of the soul. James 1:27 says, "True religion is this, to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself UNSTAINED from the world."
David used three different words here: blot out, wash, and cleanse. Then he adds, THOROUGHLY. David wanted a 'soul washing'. He was stained and felt filth deep into his inner man. He wanted a deep, thorough soul cleansing.
God, I need this. I want this. Help me to believe your promises that when we confess our sins, you are faithful and just and WILL forgive our sins and CLEANSE us from ALL unrighteousness.

I strongly encourage veryone who has ever struggled with sexual to memorize Psalms 51. It's my 'go-to' Psalms after I've 'blown it'. It's a record of David's confession after being called out by the prophet Nathan for adultery, murder, abuse of power, betrayal of a friend, and the 'cover-up'.
Vs. 1 "Have mercy on me O Lord, according to Thy steadfast love, according to thy abundant mercy, blot out my trangressions."
When I've sinned, my first and most important request is for mercy. I deserve death, or severe punishment or banishment. My only hope is that God might choose to be merciful and to set aside my sin. The basis of asking for MERCY is God's character. God declares Himself to be merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. In this verse, David attributes the hope of God's mercy to God's love.
O God, I need mercy. We need mercy. Please don't deal with us according to our sins and do not requite us according to our iniquites.
