UPDATE Saturday 9/5 - The surgery went well. Dad spent the night last night at the hospital to monitor him after General anesthesia. Praying that the healing process is quick and his vision returns better than ever!

UPDATE Thursday 9/3 - Surgery was postponed to tomorrow noon. Please pray harder than ever for a great surgical outcome and that the operating room team will keep him comfortable. They are saying they will not give him ANY anesthesia, and he will have to endure the pain if he wants the surgery! God is in Control. ๐

Prayers for John please ๐๐
John is facing a difficult eye surgery by this Tuesday the 1st. As some of you know, he is blind in his right eye and now his left eye has a detached retina. He will need vitrectomy surgery ASAP and has little vision in his left eye at this moment.
The recovery is difficult as well with 5 days of lying face down for 50 minutes of every hour! It takes many weeks to regain full vision. He just had cataract surgery a couple weeks ago in that eye and was seeing colors and the world so vividly since the surgery until this past Sunday when he started having trouble seeing.
The surgery will be done in LA at the UCLA surgery center. He will have to remain in LA for up to a week until he can safely return home which requires an altitude/elevation change that is too dangerous to do directly after surgery.
We pray for full vision to return to his left eye. We pray for the surgeons that will perform the operation to safely guide their hands. We pray for safe travel and accommodations while staying in LA away from family. We pray for strength and patience for he and his wife Viola who will be by his side during this time.
John has been a faithful servant for Mountain Home since 1968 alongside his wife Viola. John and Vi have maintained and managed the retreat for nearly 60 years. Although he can't get into the trenches and do the work himself any longer, he still meets vendors at the property, checks on the water situation, sprays weeds and comes by on Saturdays to cheer on the volunteers that do so much work for Mountain Home.
If you would like to send a card to him to lift his spirits, you can mail it to:

Please join us in prayer and feel free to add him to your prayer chains.
