•A life changing moment:
I guess I will pick the one
that got me to be here in California. I was raised by a strong christian mom who helped me to grow in my walk with God. I knew that I wanted to serve God and follow what He had for my life, but I still wanted to do things my own way. I went off to the University of Montana to pursue a career in the business world. I was there for a year and half and oh boy did God become real to me. He taught me so much by using anything to get my attention like my backpack or the stairs that I climbed to get to my dorm room. They are long stories, maybe someday I can sit down and tell everyone about them. God allowed me to grow into a deeper relationship with Him, so I was ready for what was ahead. I went home for Christmas and during that time God did it. It was late at night and I was laying on the sofa with only the lights of the Christmas tree on. I was thinking about my future, when an audible voice asked me are you ready to follow me fully? My response was of course I want to follow God and Your plans for my life. He then told me to leave the University of Montana and go to Bible college. My thoughts were sure, but why? I have grown so much there, and You have become real to me there. As I thought about it more, I knew it was a learning and preparation time. I decided to do it. I told my parents and then planned how to get my stuff back home. It was during the break and no one would be there until after the holidays. My mom and I drove up there in hopes of finding someone who could check me out before the semester started, so I wouldn't have to pay for the semester. I was packing up my room when I heard something outside my door. It was the head RA. She didn’t know why she came back early from break, but she felt like she needed to come back. I knew that God did it again to show me that He was and is working everything out for my good. That one decision to leave the University and to attend Bible college changed my life for the better. I attended Bible college, met Gary, got married, and moved to California. Oh the stories that I could tell how God moved on my dad’s heart to attend my wedding, to Gary leading my dad into his own personal relationship with God, to buying a house, to meeting so many wonderful people along the way. Every day I have life changing experiences that God shows up and let’s me know that He is there and growing me and developing into the person that He wants me to be.
