Santa Clara First Baptist Church

Santa Clara First Baptist Church We also see ourselves as a people commissioned by God to reach out to our world with the grace and gospel of our Lord Jesus.
(1)

Our church is a community of seekers and believers, encouraging each other as we seek to understand and follow the will of God for our individual and our corporate lives. As a community of faith, we enjoy many opportunities to share together in small, medium, and large groups; to worship God, to study His Word, to seek His guidance in prayer, and to fellowship with other Christian brothers and sis

ters. We seek to minister to the needs of our community and spread the good news that God has provided the way through His Son to enter into eternal life with Him. Santa Clara First Baptist Church exists to carry out the Great Commission given to it by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20:

"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Specifically for us this means we are here to "evangelize and disciple the people of the Santa Clara Valley." To fulfill this commission we pursue five objectives to create a church that is reaching it's full redemptive potential. These objectives are the following:

Magnify the name of the One who has been given all authority in our worship. Minister in love to the needs of our Membership. Enable each other to grow to Maturity in our personal relationship/commitment to Christ. Equip each other to grow in our knowledge of personal giftedness to accomplish the Ministry of the church. Impact the life of our local and wider communities in Mission for Christ.

175Pray
As we prepare for this historic weekend (175th Anniversary Celebration & Commissioning), we are inviting the whole church to unite in 175 Hours of Prayer from May 24–30.

Join us as we reach our goal by signing up for one or more hours of prayer during that week. You may choose to pray for one hour on one day, or you may sign up for multiple days.

For example, if you can pray on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6:00 AM, you would sign up for a total of 3 hours.

175 Years of God’s Faithfulness and Beyond.
Come celebrate with us on Saturday, May 30 at 6:00 PM.
In June 1850, Reverend Wheeler began a Sunday school in Santa Clara.
Soon after, Reverend Levi Grenell, missionary and pastor of San Jose Baptist Church, became part of the founding work and was called as SCFBC’s first pastor in 1851.

We are your church. We are your neighbors. We are here for you.
Rooted in Christ. Commissioned to the Nations.
