How can we prepare ourselves for practice? What does it mean to purity karma? Learn why the preliminary
practices are described as the most profound and deeply transformative practices of our lineage. This course is suitable for students at all levels.

Teacher: Dawa Tarchin Phillips serves as the resident teacher at the Santa Barbara Bodhipath Center, bringing over two decades of dedicated Buddhist practice and teaching. An authorized teacher in the Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism, Dawa is celebrated for his profound Dharma teachings and expertise in mindfulness and meditation. Born in New York City and raised in a multicultural family in Europe, he is fluent in English, German, and French, embodying a global perspective. Dawa trained extensively as an ordained monk under the guidance of the esteemed meditation master, Gendun Rinpoche, and completed two intensive three-year meditation retreats at the Dhagpo Kundreul Ling Hermitage in France. His teachings seamlessly blend wisdom, compassion, and clarity, inspiring students from all walks of life.
