Netzach (Eternity, Perseverance, Triumph) sh’b
Gevurah (Strength, Discernment, Restraint, Focus)

and as it opens,
we lift our hearts,
follow the path,
and steadfastly pass through,
finding the endurance to overcome that which challenges us.

The week of Gevurah

Chesed sh’b Gevurah

Night falls, but this night we encounter a new chapter.

Now we come to the second week of counting the Omer. We have been exploring how each of the seven aspects (or sephira) work within and influence Chesed (lovingkindness, generosity, grace).

Now, we encounter a week infused with Gevurah (discernment, strength, restraint, focus) and as we journey through this week we will live out how each of the seven sephira influences its expression.

Tonight is the eighth gate: Chesed sh’b Gevurah

It opens and we find clear mind; generosity and love guide our perception, our judgments, our direct action, and sometimes, even more importantly, our inaction.

Today is the eighth day of the Omer which makes one week and one day of the Omer.

The Seventh Gate

Malchut/Shechina sh’b Chesed

The gate opens on the seventh night -
Malchut/Shechina (indwelling divine presence, sovereignty) sh’b
Chesed (lovingkindness, generosity, grace): a completion.

It is here, through word, thought, and deed, that grace finds expression in the world
because we take on the opportunity and obligation to make it so.

Today is the seventh day of the Omer, which makes one week of the Omer.

The Sixth Gate

Evening falls and the sixth gate swings open.

Yesod (foundation, sexuality, bonding) sh’b Chesed (lovingkindness, presence, generosity, grace).

We are standing on Holy Ground. Through Yesod within Chesed we manifest the relationships with which to bring forth acts of lovingkindness, future generations, intimacy.

We reflect the light of righteousness as creation….
and also as creators.

Today is the sixth day of the Omer.

The Fifth Gate

Hod sh’b Chesed

As the permutations assemble and the gates open each night, the tradition tells us that the world is infused with that specific aspect of Divine Consciousness.

Whether we practice or pray - or we don’t… still the emanations are available to us, adjusting, enlivening, and blessing us into becoming.

Hod (majesty by presence, form, splendor) within Chesed (lovingkindness, presence, generosity, grace) allows us to stand steadfast in the majesty of grace and compassionate love.

Today is the fifth day of the Omer.

Fourth Gate

Netzach sh’b Chesed

Three stars appear in the night sky and the fourth gate opens: Netzach sh’be (within) Chesed.

Netzach (Eternity, Perseverance, Triumph) allows Chesed its victory, regardless of time or distance.

Overcoming all barriers to move beyond what is defined, out into eternity, Netzach engages the persistence of Lovingkindness, of Generosity, of Grace.

Today is the fourth day of the Omer

The Third Gate

Tiferet sh’b Chesed

Over the next seven weeks we live out the 49 permutations of seven (of the ten) aspects of the Divine that make up the Kabbalistic Tree of Life.

Tonight we enter the third gate and Chesed (lovingkindness, presence, generosity, grace) holds within its expression Tiferet, the central balance point of the Ten.

Tiferet (beauty, balance, harmony, truth) within Chesed leaves us poised at the centerpoint of Divine Grace, where coming is going, and we find ourselves awash in the clarity of honest presence.

Today is the third day of the Omer.

2 April 2026
Chesed sh’b Chesed

Tonight we begin the counting of the Omer, the spiritual journey traveling the 49 days from Pesach (Passover) to Shavuot.

Each week, of the next 7 weeks, are governed and infused by one of seven aspects of the Divine. And within these weeks, each day of the week is also guided by one of these seven aspects. Each evening we enter a gate, each day an enlivening of our possibility.

Tonight the first gate swings open: Chesed within Chesed, (lovingkindness, presence, generosity, grace) -- and we enter in.

Today is the first day of the Omer which makes no weeks and one day of the Omer.
