Team Reflections-
Kelly- My perspective... I am reminded of 1st Chronicles 28:9
"As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever."
I have been given the assignment of being the team nurse. It was given to me by one of the team members the first time I went to Creation Fest in 2016 because they needed somebody to hand out the Band-Aids and the aspirin when people were not feeling well, and I was a nurse and they asked me to do it.
Little did I know that it would be a tremendous privilege to work alongside the Holy Spirit in ministering to my own team. When you're the nurse you find out not only who is hurting physically but you also find out who is hurting mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. And being on the CF prayer team they also come for prayer. It can be exhausting; but at the same time extremely humbling.
This trip there was a lot of injuries, last year we dealt with a lot of colds, the year before everyone was constipated. I think these things go in cycles. But this year there was a lot of injuries; not only physical injuries but I saw a lot of injuries to peoples pride and I also saw the Lord break down that pride and humble a lot of people. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks! That is what happens when you are depleted. I saw a group of people who really didn't know one another go on mission to Creation Fest and witness the amazing things that God is doing in the UK. Whatever was in our hearts that needed to be shed in order to fully serve the Lord I saw that happen. We are all brothers and sisters and getting to know each other but I saw a team working together to help one another in their infirmities and that quickens my heart. I saw a team that cared for one another, I saw a team that witnessed another team member hurting and reached out to help, I saw a team who looked after one another and checked in on one another, I saw a team that truly wanted to serve the Lord and may have been brought out of their comfort zone in ways they didn't expect but were willing to come out of that comfort zone, and I saw a team that was stretched to the limit in certain areas, and I saw a team that was needy but had their needs met by leaders that were also stretched to the Limit.
We were entirely depleted, God was entirely full; and I think that is the way He works. Those who sought the Lord with all their heart found Him; and those who didnt had a harder time but also had their needs met because of His grace. My heart is full, God is good and faithful and if I have the privilege to serve again next year I would like to do so.
