This past Sunday, Pastor Pitts wrapped up our series, THE MISSION, with a powerful reminder of what it truly means to care for all.

Jesus turned cultural expectations upside down when He made the Samaritan the hero of the story. He showed us that no matter what historical, racial, ethnic, or social barriers exist, your neighbor is anyone created in the image of God.

True faith doesn't just look past differences; it leans into real needs.

Meeting physical needs? Yes.

Feeding the hungry and clothing those in need? Absolutely.

But it doesn't stop there.

We are called to restore people holistically. Any expression of faith that denigrates human dignity is not of God. Let’s be a church that protects dignity, restores lives, and loves without conditions.

"We say that the church is a hospital, but when folks come in here coughing and sneezing, we get upset." 🏥👀

In this powerful message, Pastor Ivan Pitts challenges us to shift our perspective. If we view the church as a place for healing, we have to welcome the brokenness that comes through the doors. Drawing from the wisdom of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the parable of the Good Samaritan, Pastor Ivan reminds us that the real question isn't "What will happen to me if I stop to help?" but rather, "What will happen to them if I don't?"

Let’s see people differently, SBC Family. We cannot truly care for the people we refuse to meet right where they are.

Sometimes we think they’re just "tired," but the truth is, they’ve been carrying us. ❤️

From our biggest dreams to our heaviest burdens, mothers have a strength that is often unseen but always felt. Today, we honor the women who never stopped moving, never stopped working, and never stopped loving.

Thank you to all the mothers and mother figures at SBC for the weight you carry and the grace you show.

This past Sunday, Rev. Chris Adams, PhD, gave us a powerful perspective on mental health. He reminded us that worrying doesn't change anything, but our focus certainly does.

Instead of letting anxiety become a habit that operates outside our awareness, let's practice bringing intention to our thoughts. 🕊️

How are you being intentional with your attention today? Share your tips below! 👇

If you are feeling overwhelmed today, we want you to know one thing: You are not alone. 🤍

Anxiety can be a heavy burden to carry, and it often whispers lies—telling us we aren’t "faithful enough" or that things are hopeless. But those are just lies. Our faith doesn’t exempt us from the human experience; it gives us a place to take our burdens.

Swipe through for a few ways to find peace in the noise today. ➡️

If you’re looking for a safe space to discuss these topics and find real community support, we invite you to join us for Mental Health Sunday.

Mental Health Sunday | May 3rd
We are honored to have Rev. Chris Adams as our guest speaker. We will also be hosting a Health Fair immediately following the service at our Santa Ana campus to provide practical resources for you and your loved ones.

Join us at either campus:
🕙 9:00 AM – Santa Ana (4300 Westminster Ave)
🕙 11:30 AM – Irvine (4861 Michelson Dr)

Your mental health matters to God, and it matters to us. Let’s walk through this together.
