Jesus wants you to know that he sees you, he loves you, and he wants to heal you and raise you up. Even as he uses our lives to continue his mission to the world, we are never just a means to an end. He has deep compassion for our needs, our wounds, and our lameness.

Who better to visit us and bring healing than the God who has wounds? Jesus shares empathy with every human being because he himself was rejected, betrayed, beaten, and murdered.

In our recent study through Acts 9, we look at the stories of Aeneas and Tabitha to see how Jesus brings this restoration and life-giving power to his holy people.

What an incredible start to our Women’s and Men’s fall Bible studies! It was so good to gather for morning coffee and our evening community dinner, then dive into the introduction of our new series, “Faithfulness in an Unfaithful Land.”

During the next 10 weeks, we will explore what faithfulness looks like in an unfaithful world. Together, we will discover that Scripture tells one story: while humanity repeatedly wanders, God remains faithful. Again and again, he pursues his people, keeps his promises, and lovingly calls them home.

As we journey through the lives of biblical figures like Joseph, Ruth, and Daniel, we will see that true faithfulness is not first about extraordinary people, but about an extraordinary God. Every faithful life ultimately points to Jesus, the perfectly faithful one who makes our own faithfulness possible.

What happens when a religious insider has a radical encounter with Jesus?

In our ongoing study through the Book of Acts, we look at the story of Saul of Tarsus. He was a devoted Pharisee who violently persecuted the early church. But on the road to Damascus, a sudden encounter with the risen Jesus changed everything. 

Through this encounter, Saul received a completely new identity. The man who was once an enemy of the church became a beloved brother and a son of God. He was filled with a new power through the Holy Spirit and gained radical new clarity about his true purpose. 

Saul’s story reminds us that whether we are an insider or an outsider, true transformation only comes through a personal encounter with him.

A summer night to remember! 🌙

Thank you to everyone who joined us in the Courtyard for our first-ever Calvary Summer Night Market. It was an incredible evening celebrating the end of the season with our church family and local neighbors.

Between the live tunes by Fairview Street Music, line dancing for all ages, and shopping from our amazing artisan vendors, the night was full of great connection and family fun. A special thank you to all the local makers who shared their talents and goods with us!

Nights like this remind us of the beauty of our church family and the joy of simply being together in community. Thank you for making it such a special evening!
