🕊 “Beyond the Hype: A Call to the Anointing”
In today’s culture—especially within the church—we've witnessed something that’s both captivating and concerning. There’s a growing pull toward the hype: lights, sound, charisma, emotional surges, packed events, viral moments, and the sensationalism that leaves us breathless… but not always Spirit-filled.
Let me be clear—passion is beautiful. Excellence is good. Creativity is a gift. These things can be used powerfully by God. But sometimes, we mistake these external expressions as evidence of anointing.
The danger is that hype stirs emotion, but anointing breaks chains.
Hype might gather crowds, but anointing transforms hearts.
Hype can build a brand, but anointing builds the Kingdom.
Some connect to the church because it feels exciting. The energy is high, and the crowd is moving. But when the music fades and the fog clears, what remains? If it's not the presence of the Holy Spirit, we’ve missed the point.
The Holy Spirit is not a feeling we chase.
He’s the Person we yield to.
He’s not a moment in the service.
He is the source of every moment worth having.
We cannot manufacture what only heaven can send.
So this is a humble reminder and a loving challenge: let’s seek more than the experience—let’s seek His presence. Let us be people who aren’t just moved—but marked by the Holy Spirit.
May we never settle for hype when heaven offers healing.
May we hunger not just for revival nights, but for revival lives.
May our gatherings not just impress, but invite the glory of God to dwell among us.
This is a call back to the Anointing.
Back to the sacred.
Back to the fire that purifies, not just excites.
Let the oil flow again.
With love,
Pastor Wes
