I got a tip from one of our residents. Ken is 91 and often hands me a mint. This morning he left on the table with his empty tea cup. This is one of my favorite pictures

Resident spotlight: Ken. He served mostly stateside with a short time in the Philippines 🇵🇭. He also served in the Air Force, where he folded parachutes 🪂! How cool is that! Now he comes every day before breakfast and folds laundry. Our laundry is aprons and towels. He enjoys chatting with Craig and sharing his mints. We are so privileged to serve him.

The Resurrection and the Great Commission are one story. Today as you celebrate Easter, the resurrection of the Passover lamb, Christ Jesus, remember His final words on Earth ...

“Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men.

“But the angel answered and said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.’

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.”

Headed to setup and serve our retired missionary residents breakfast. Later we will celebrate one of them turning 99 years old.

Walking to work on this beautiful campus the Lord has provided for the retired missionaries and those who serve Him by serving them. Helping provide good meals to those in the ALF and independent living home is rewarding. We often hear our folks say “Thank you.” or “We really appreciate you guys being here.” It’s a team effort. Pray the Lord will send more laborers to serve here along with us. Cheryl Ross Cassel
