We had the best last week of summer camp. Of course we went swimming but oh so much more. We had a great science lesson with some of our friends at CCCC. We could’ve stayed a lot longer. We learned so much. We went to visit Hawk Manor in Lillington. Mr. Chip educated the children on Hawks, owls, falcons. We even had a visit from his dog, Stella. It was one of the best field trips we have ever taken. The following day we went to the Duke Homestead in Durham. We found out about the Duke family and how they lived and ran their to***co farm. We ended the week at the Lee County agriculture center and had a wonderful lesson on their pollination garden.  It was a hot summer camp season but we had the best kids and we all enjoyed ourselves very much.

Week number 4 was a blast in the artsy way, because who doesn't love arts. We snuck backstage at the Durham performing arts center and almost got lost in the labyrinth of random rooms. It was pretty amazing. Then we unleashed our creativity at the locally owned Well Glazed, painting our own pottery. Luckily, the rain came down only while we were inside and we painted till our hearts were content. We also dyed our own T-shirts in a rainbow of colors, because tie-dye is basically the answer to all life's problems, and ended the day with a foam party that was totally not a childhood flashback. They had an absolute blast. We also managed to dip her toes in the swimming pool again, because toe dipping is an art form, and wrapped up the week with canvas painting and another week in the books that was undeniably amazing.

This is a super late post—week number 3 of St. Luke's summer camp was absolutely bonkers! We kicked off the week with some splashy fun in the pool followed by another epic bowling trip. Then, we dove headfirst into swimming at Buffalo Lake and despite the lake being drier than expected, we still managed to have a total blast. This tour was truly one for the books – mainly because we got to take a tour of Reynolds Colosseum at NC State. Let's just say the phrase 'we had fun' is the understatement of the century. Friday afternoon got ruined because of the weather BUT we saved the day with relay races and games in the gym and finish the day with an awesome tour and history lesson at St Luke United Methodist Church.

St Luke Summer Camp week #2 was totally buzzing! On Monday, we splashed into the Moose pool in the morning and then knocked down pins at bowling in the afternoon. Tuesday, we jumped - literally jumped - all over Raleigh at Pump It Up. On Wednesday, we watched a movie, munched lunch, and played at the park where the water misters were the real MVPs. Thursday took us back to Raleigh for some putt-putt shenanigans at Partee Shack, where we apparently didn't know the rules of mini golf. We wrapped up the week with a splash - swimming again in the morning - and a buzz-worthy visit from Mr. Dennis of the Lee County Bee Association, who schooled us on the lowdown on honey bee life cycles; sadly, despite our detective work, the queen bee remained elusive in the travel hive. This week was pure honey!

We had the best first week of summer camp. We started the week at the Moose pool, followed by making our own pizza at Valenti’s in Vass. Tuesday we went to White Hill Farm and Ms. Anna taught us about all different kinds of fruits and vegetables. We were also able to pick our own blackberries. Yum yum. Afterwards we played on the playground. In the afternoon we went to Heaven Gourmet Popcorn and sweet shop in Broadway. We learned how they make their all of the items. We got popcorn to take to the movies with us on Wednesday. Thursday we toured Lowe's Foods in Southern Pines. We had such a good time. We purchased food to drop off at CUOC. We dropped off our food on Friday after we finished a swimming. We finished our day at The Dairy Bar for ice cream. It was a great week.
