Lenten Season Announcement

Good morning, church family!

We are quickly approaching the holy season of Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18, 2026, and continues for 40 days leading up to Resurrection Sunday. Lent is a sacred time of repentance, fasting, prayer, self-examination, and preparation as we reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and His resurrection.

During this season, we are encouraged to draw closer to God by strengthening our spiritual discipline. Many choose to fast, give up certain habits or foods, and spend intentional time in prayer and studying the Word.

All members of Mt. Nebo FWB Church are asked to participate by:

1️⃣ Fasting one meal of your choice every Wednesday during the Lenten season, beginning Ash Wednesday.
2️⃣ Giving up something for the next 40 days (such as sweets or another personal choice), or committing to volunteer or serve faithfully during this time.

Let us use this season to deepen our relationship with God, renew our commitment to Christ, and prepare our hearts for the joy of Resurrection Sunday!

Let us journey together in faith, discipline, and expectation.

Grace and Peace Mt. Nebo!

Our church, Mt. Nebo FWB, wants to wish you all a Happy MLK Day on January 19, 2026! This day is so important because it’s a time to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., someone who stood up for what was right, even when it wasn’t easy. He believed in fairness, love, and equality for everyone, no matter their skin color or background.

Dr. King taught us that we can all make a difference, even if we’re young. It’s not about being famous or doing something huge. It’s about standing up for what’s right in our everyday lives and treating people with kindness and respect.

So, as we celebrate this day, let’s take a moment to think about how far we’ve come by the Grace of God and how we can keep Dr. King’s dream alive. Whether it’s being kind to someone who feels left out, helping others, or just speaking up when we see something wrong, we all have a part to play.

This message comes with lots of love from Pastor Jamlain and Eldress-Lady Linda Johnson. Let’s honor Dr. King’s legacy together!

Have a blessed MLK Day!
