In Norse mythology, Hoddmímis holt (Hodd's wood) is a location where Líf and Lífþrasir are foretold to survive Fimbulvetr. Hoddmímis holt is attested in the Poetic Edda compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources, and the Prose Edda, written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson. In the poem Vafþrúðnismál (Poetic Edda), the god Odin poses a question to the jötunn Vafþrúðnir, as

king who among mankind will survive when Fimbulvetr occurs. Vafþrúðnir responds that they will be Líf and Lífþrasir, that the two will have hidden in the wood of Hoddmímis holt, they will consume the morning dew as food, and "from them generations will spring."

Odin the yule father the center piece is honored for his knowledge, magic and the sacrifices we make throughout the year. Flanked by Tyr, the oath master as folks generally swear oaths this time of year. Be careful of your oaths as they are bound by blood during yule. Also our goddess Freyja as she is the all Mother and guides us spiritually.

The Kindred would like to thank all the folks who supported the Hugger Mugger Krampus photo event this year. Between your donations and the Kindred’s we were able to give the Breadbasket of Sanford $300! And thanks to all those who brought non perishable foods!
