This morning, we were reminded that being tired and being at rest are not the same thing.

So many of us have become accustomed to running. Carrying burdens we were never meant to carry. Trying to hold together things only God can sustain. Mistaking anxiety for responsibility and exhaustion for faithfulness.

But Psalm 23:2 reminds us of a beautiful truth:

“He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.”

The Shepherd doesn’t shame exhausted sheep. He settles them. He provides for them. He refreshes them.

You don’t have to shepherd yourself.

You have a Shepherd.

And if you walked in weary today, our prayer is that you walked out remembering this: your rest isn’t found in the absence of trouble. It’s found in the presence of the Shepherd.

Thank you to everyone who worshiped with us this morning. If you need prayer this week, please reach out. You don’t have to carry it alone.

Sunday mornings have a way of resetting our hearts.

Before the busyness of another week begins, we gather to lift high the name of Jesus, remember who our Shepherd is, and join our voices in worship together.

Here’s what we’ll be singing this Sunday:

🎶 Every Praise
🎶 Psalm 23
🎶 Majesty
🎶 O Praise The Name

Come expectant. Come ready to worship. Come as you are.

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1

Some of us are exhausted and don't even know how to admit it.

We've been running from responsibility to responsibility, carrying burdens we were never meant to carry, convincing ourselves that rest can wait until "someday."

But Psalm 23:2 reminds us of something beautiful:
"He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters."

The Good Shepherd doesn't just drive His sheep harder. He leads them to places of rest, renewal, and peace. He knows what your soul needs even when you don't. Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is stop striving long enough to let Him shepherd you.

If your heart is weary, your mind is anxious, or your soul feels tired, this Sunday's message is for you.

Join us as we continue our journey through Psalm 23 and discover the rest that only Jesus can give.

Some weeks feel heavier than others. The prayers are longer, the answers seem slower, and the road feels uncertain. But take heart:
the God who carried you this far has not stepped away now.

Keep trusting. Keep showing up. Keep loving people well. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. His grace is sufficient for today, and His faithfulness will be there again tomorrow.

“Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength…” Isaiah 40:31

We’re praying for you, church family. You are not walking through this week alone.

Sunday Sermon Notes | Week 1: The Shepherd I Need

Psalm 23 is one of the most familiar passages in Scripture, but today we were reminded that before David talks about what God gives, he tells us who God is.

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1

The LORD Is.
My.
Shepherd.
I Shall Not Want.

The greatest blessing in Psalm 23 is not the pasture, the water, or even the provision.

The greatest blessing is the Shepherd Himself.

Maybe today you needed the reminder that you don't have to carry what belongs to the Shepherd. It's time to unpack the backpack and trust Him with the burdens you've been carrying.
