Apostles Church of Sandy Springs

Apostles Church of Sandy Springs Jesus is at the center of all we do! Our Viewpoint:

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 Peter 1:2)

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, John 1:14, 1 Timothy 3:16), nor is there salvation through any other, for there is no other name under h

eaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), in His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:26, 27, 30, 31, 34, 35, 37) in His sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 4:15, 1 Peter 2:22) in His miracles (John 2:1-11, John 4:46-54, Luke 5:1-11, Matthew 9:27-31, Luke 7:11-17), in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood (2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 3:25, Romans 4:25, 1 John 2:2, 1 John 4:10) in His bodily resurrection (Matthew 28:9, Luke 24:36-40, John 20:26, John 21:1-2), in His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Luke 24:50-53, Acts 1:9, Acts 2:30-34, Ephesians 4:8-10, Hebrews 4:12) and in His personal return in power and glory (John 14:1-4, Acts 1:11, 1 Corinthians 11:26, 2 Thessalonians 2:19, James 5:7-9, Revelation 3:11, Revelation 22:12, Revelation 22:20)

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. (John 3:3-8, Titus 3:5)

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (John 14:17, Romans 5:1-5, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 6:19, Galatians 5:22-23, 1 John 3:24)

We believe upon personal faith in Christ, each person is baptized into the body of Christ, the Church Universal. (1 Corinthians 12:13)

We believe followers of Jesus should gather together to devote themselves to the teaching of the God’s Word, fellowship, worship, and prayer. (Acts 2:42-47)

“In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity.”
– Augustine of Hippo

For all who have contracted coronavirus,
We pray for care and healing.

For those who are particularly vulnerable,
We pray for safety and protection.

For all who experience fear or anxiety,
We pray for peace of mind and spirit.

For affected families who are facing difficult decisions between food on the table or public safety,

We pray for policies that recognize their plight.

For those who do not have adequate health insurance, We pray that no family will face financial burdens alone.

For those who are afraid to access care due to immigration status, We pray for recognition of the God-given dignity of all.

For our brothers and sisters around the world,
We pray for shared solidarity.

For public officials and decisionmakers,
We pray for wisdom and guidance.

Father, during this time may your Church be a sign of hope, comfort and love to all.

Grant peace.
Grant comfort.
Grant healing.
Be with us, Lord.

Amen.

From Elizabeth Dixon: former Church Admin.
I often see & donate what I can to my friends and to their friends on their birthdays to a special cause close to their hearts. Well if you know me at all, I can't pick just one and don't expect my FB friends, my close friends and family to donate big bucks. It's not about that… These are all close to my heart. And, as I have found from working with the church and knowing others who work with nonprofits, even $1, $5 goes a long way when multiple people are giving. So I'm humbly asking, for my birthday on 2/11, to please pick one, or three, or all of them. 😉 Find one that you can get behind, please. I don't have to know who is giving or what you're giving-- unless you want to post that you did, but it's confidential and they are all 501(c)(3) tax deductible. And they ALL do great work in a variety of areas. So please consider what you can afford without hardship of any kind. I'm eternally grateful for my friends and family. I love y'all very much and thank you for the support!

Details for Lowell Culbertson's Memorial Service this Sat, 8/19 below.

Prayers of Peace and Comfort for Lowell Culbertson's family and friends. Loved by so many! Father & Grandfather, Lowell was a former long time member of our church. Sang in the choir, did part-time maintenance at the church & day school. Looked out for the children, parents & staff at drop-off and pick-up times, and special events. Volunteered for many services, including Habitat for Humanity. Wonderful cook & baker; played piano & organ; "Mr. Fixit", with "old school work ethic" and a gentleman. He will be missed, but we know he's restored & singing with the choirs of heaven!
The service for Lowell Culbertson will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Cross of Life Lutheran Church, 1000 Hembree Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076. There will be a reception after the service.

Lord we lift up James and his entire family. We pray for a peace that we can't even come close to understanding. God, you tell us, that when we lift You up, You will bring joy to our hearts. Lord, we know that this isn't goodbye.

Lord, help us to be available to James. Abba, we ask you to surround our brother and his family. Lord, Help us to be to mindful and thoughtful to James. The grieving process is a long and arduous journey. Lord, give James the strength to face a new normal. Father, we thank You for what You have done for us, And for what you are doing right now in this moment. God thank you in advance for the blessings that are ahead of us. We ask and pray all of these things in the name of Jesus.

"Don’t owe anyone anything, with the exception of love to one another—that is a debt which never ends—because the person who loves others has fulfilled the law."
Romans 13:8 (the voice)

We love you Brother James Dixon.

Good Morning Apostles Church Family,

This is an update on Frank Stieve's passing and final wishes. His family and friends are planning to do to celebrate Frank's life.

Steve's friends from his condominium neighborhood association are going to plan a memorial at their clubhouse one weekend in late August. We will be given a day and time with advance notice for his memorial.

Steve's stepson Ron Slack, informed me that Frank would have desired that donations should be made to his Apostles Church Family, instead of purchasing flowers and food.

As I reflect on Frank's life, I recall how kind and supportive he was to Apostles. Frank was a great teller of jokes, and on at least three occasions he rebuffed individuals who tried to draw him into church politics. He said that going to church should be filled with love, joy, and happiness. We all could stand to learn a lesson from Frank's mantra. He will be greatly missed, but now is free from all pain and suffering. I look forward to seeing him again in our Heavenly home.

Donation's can be sent to Apostles new address is:

Pastor Joseph
