This past Sunday, our community was blessed to witness four individuals follow Christ in baptism.

WE are excited and looking forward to the church being together for a time of baptism this morning! As we have been looking at the book of ACTS – there is great evidence that baptism is the natural and immediate response to putting our faith in Jesus and declaring our salvation and new life to everyone around us.

Being MADE NEW in Christ – there is no greater love – there is no greater grace – there is no greater gift in life than God’s offer of salvation to us.

Our focus this morning will be on the shift that happens here – as we get to see the FULLNESS OF GOD’S PLAN for the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus – the offer of forgiveness and salvation for EVERYONE EVERYWHERE. Yes – even those Gentiles. Even you and I.

Join us as we look at the rest of the story of Cornelius and Peter. Let’s be challenged and encouraged together by the ideas that It’s Not All About One-Way Streets and the we now have the Freedom to Purge Prejudice.

God has chosen over and over to work through people who the world doesn’t consider the best of the best or those who deserve the spotlight. He chooses to work in and through people that we sometimes look past, pass over and simply do not notice as people who are significant servants of God – people who are actually playing a big role in God’s plan and purposes.

As we saw last week - Acts Chapter 9 can easily be seen as a chapter all about Saul and what happens to him on the Road to Damascus. It’s understandable. We see him experience a movie-worthy, miraculous encounter with Jesus that completely changed his life. There are others in Acts 9 - who can get lost - or overlooked – or outshined by the spotlight of the main character Saul. We need to take the time to really notice them, to see them and hopefully to learn from them – as we are seeking to follow Jesus more faithfully - and more effectively - in our lives and as the church together.

So we are sticking with Acts 9 for one more week – as we take time to see and learn from Ananias, Barnabas and Tabitha.

If you are unable to join us for our in-person time of Worship and the Word together - we are praying for you and hope to see you sometime soon!

Today - as we remember and celebrate the 250th year of the moment that transformed our nation and moved us ahead in FREEDOM – we are also continuing in the Book of Acts Chpter 9 – where we see perhaps the greatest story of Jesus changing someone’s life so that they could be free.

We have the chance to see the story of Saul’s conversion and what his own personal Jesus story looks like – the story that shows us his BEFORE and AFTER transformation which led to a FREEDOM in Christ that God used to share the Gospel and to continue building His church.

We will also celebrate together in COMMUNION during our worship time at the end of the service today. If you are joining us online - feel free to have your own elements (bread & juice) ready to join with us. As always - it will always an incredible opportunity to remember the great love that God has shown us through His unimaginable sacrifice for us. But today – it will also be a time where you are willing to come before God and allow the Holy Spirit to examine your heart, your faith, and your life as you consider your own personal Jesus story.
