Without a doubt, the absolute best Lunch Bunch destination! Hardware, in North Aurora, grows most of their own food on site. They have 4 gardeners, an imaginative chef, and we had a delightful server! Every dish we ordered was delicious! 10/10!

Blessing of the backpacks, students & teachers at Salem Lutheran Church today! We also had a group picture after church out by our new sign. Pastor gave a blessing for our new sign dedication. Then we enjoyed Sundaes on Sunday provided by Worship Committee. Finally a few people enjoyed some water games.

If you’ve followed this series from beginning to end, I hope you’ve noticed something that often surprises people encountering it for the first time: that Confession isn’t meant to be a polemical attack on Rome, nor is it an attempt to win arguments or convert people by force of rhetoric. It is, first and foremost, a confession of faith and belief. It’s the Lutheran Reformers standing before the emperor, the princes, and the wider Church saying, “This is what we believe.”

Where errors had arisen, those errors were addressed, not to attack individuals but because false teaching obscures the Gospel and burdens consciences. The Lutheran Reformers believed that genuine love for the Church required both a clear confession of the truth and a gracious correction of error. Those two things belong together.

That is why the tone of the Augsburg Confession is so important. It demonstrates that the Lutheran Reformers weren’t trying to create a new church or invent a new theology. They repeatedly appealed to Holy Scripture, the Church Fathers, and the historic faith of the Church. Their claim was simple, that the doctrine they confessed was the ancient catholic faith restored to its proper foundation in God’s Word.

Throughout these thirty days, we’ve seen the heart of that confession. We are justified by grace through faith for Christ’s sake alone. Christ continues to give His forgiveness through His Word and Sacraments. The Church is found wherever the Gospel is rightly preached and the Sacraments rightly administered. And where practices had drifted away from Scripture, the Lutheran Reformers didn’t want innovation, but faithful reform.

This remains the purpose of the Lutheran Confessions today. They aren’t weapons to win debates or barriers built against other Christians. They’re public statements that say, with humility and conviction, “Here we stand. This is what we believe because this is what we find taught in Holy Scripture.”

Every confession ultimately points beyond itself, to Jesus Christ, who is the center of the Scriptures, the heart of the Gospel, and the hope of every sinner.
