This morning synod staff were present at the press conference, held by Interfaith Welcome Coalition, Agape Action and Nuevos Vecinos. The testimonies of family separation, and how new state laws are already impacting longtime residence were powerful. The message from faith representatives was clear - we are called to stand with the oppressed and to recognize the dignity in all people. They encouraged attendees to put information in their bulletins about the impact of current immigration enforcement on families and children in Texas.
