Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Sand Gap Christian Church! 💐

Today we celebrate and honor all mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, and mother figures who show Christ’s love through their kindness, strength, and sacrifice each and every day.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed.” – Proverbs 31:28

We are so thankful for the incredible women who help guide families in faith and love. May God bless each of you today and always.

Mount Everest may be the highest place on Earth today, but its summit tells a very different story from the distant past. ⛰️🌊

Near the top of the mountain, climbers encounter layers of marine limestone containing fossils of ancient sea creatures such as crinoids, trilobites, and brachiopods. These fossils formed hundreds of millions of years ago in the warm, shallow waters of the prehistoric Tethys Ocean.

When the Indian tectonic plate collided with Asia around 50 million years ago, the seabed sediments were slowly pushed upward, creating the towering Himalayas.

Today, those ancient marine fossils remain preserved close to the 8,848-meter summit—evidence that the roof of the world was once part of an ocean floor.

What a blessing it’s been to worship together today. As we wrap up this Lord’s Day, let’s carry the peace of His presence into the week ahead. No matter what tomorrow holds, we can rest knowing God is already there.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters.” — Psalm 23:1–2
