If you consider yourself a friend of the Forest--if you've sat among the trees, felt the movement of Spirit, meditated, laughed, eaten a meal, stayed the night, or thought of the Forest fondly in your heart--please consider becoming a monthly supporter. Your gift of any size can make a big difference. You can help provide a welcoming space for others, like Terry, who recently attended our Family Day:

"It was great being in the forest and being connected to nature. There was a light rain while we were walking in the woods, and it was just so peaceful. I felt connected to the trees and all the living things that were in the forest."

Make an impact today, and help preserve the Forest for all those, like Terry, and like you, who have come to love this sacred place.

On this day in 1980, in the chapel of the main house, the Osage Monastery-Forest of Peace was dedicated. Sr. Pascaline Coff was thrilled to see the Forest which had once been a vision in her heart and mind become a reality right here in the Osage hills. Since that time, the Forest has been a place of refuge, rest, renewal, and reawakening of the inner Light for people of many backgrounds and faith traditions. Happy birthday, Forest of Peace!

What would it be like to spend a week living the wisdom of the Rule of St. Benedict?

Many people who come to the Forest of Peace speak of a longing for a different way of life—one with more prayer, more intention, more community, and a deeper sense of peace.

In January, we'll be offering a new retreat experience: Benedictine Living, a weekend retreat with an optional week-long immersion for those who wish to explore more deeply. Together we'll share a common rhythm of prayer, silence, meals, work, study, and rest, inspired by the Rule of St. Benedict and adapted for contemporary life.

This is not a historical reenactment or an attempt to become monks for a week. Rather, it is an opportunity to experience the timeless wisdom of the Benedictine tradition and discover what it might mean to live more deliberately, attentively, and compassionately in our own time.

More details will be shared in the coming months, but for now, we invite you to mark your calendar, begin to wonder, and perhaps ask yourself:

What might change if I lived for a week according to a sacred rhythm?
