From all of us at Mary Star Religious Education, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. We thank you all very much for your generous food donations to serve the less fortunate in our community.
There will be no class Wednesday November 23rd and Saturday November 26th. We look forward to seeing you all next week at our regular scheduled time. I have included a beautiful prayer to say with your family to give thanks and bless your meal.

Dear God, we thank You for this meal and for all the hands that helped prepare it. We give You thanks most of all for the gift of Your Son, Jesus. Please bless the food we eat, all who are gathered today to share it, and all our loved ones who can’t be with us today. We ask this as we ask all things, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

First Communion is on Saturday May 14th at 10:00 am in the Church.
As we prepare for First Holy Communion, we reflect on the gift of the body and blood of our Savior Jesus Christ.
First Holy Communion is the most important step in your journey of faith. When you receive our Lord, you will join the union of all members of the Church and receive the ultimate food for your soul, Jesus Christ. May God guard you and guide you as you walk with Him on the path that He has prepared for you for the rest of your life.

Hello Mary Star Religious Ed families,
Our Religious Education team here at Mary Star are excitedly and prayerfully preparing for First Communion coming up on Saturday May 14th at 10:00 am.
Just a friendly reminder that we have a mandatory practice for First Communion on Thursday May 12th in the Church from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. We ask the parents to attend this practice with their child. Please arrive on time in order to begin on time.

Open House at Mary Star Elementary School on Thursday May 12th from 5 to 7pm. All are welcome to attend. This will be the same night we have practice for the children doing First Communion next month. Please come join us, enjoy delicious tacos and take a tour of our school. Mary Star Elementary School is now enrolling for next school year, Kindergarten through 8th grade. This is a great opportunity for prospective students to meet our teachers, families and students. Learn about our Academics, Faith Formation, Athletics and Extracurricular Opportunities. We look forward to seeing you there.

Mary Star of the Sea Christian Care is providing food for Thanksgiving for families in need.
If you would like to receive food for Thanksgiving, including a Turkey, please call Mary Star Christian Care at (424) 536-0296. Pick up is here at Mary Star, 853 W. 7th Street, San Pedro on Saturday, November 20th from 8:30am to 10am. Numbers are limited. Sorry, no home deliveries.

We continue to register students for classes which are from Kindergarten to grade 8. We also have a class of High School students who are preparing for First Holy Communion.
Spanish classes are available.
We have a special program to welcome unbaptized children who are older than seven to help them prepare for all three Sacraments of Initiation- Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion
Religious Ed office hours are Monday-Friday 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 4:30pm. Please note the office is closed on Mondays after 12pm
