Something historic is happening this weekend. As part of America's 250th anniversary celebrations and Jewish American Heritage Month, the White House has issued a Presidential Proclamation designating this Friday as the first-ever national Shabbat — Shabbat 250 — a time for rest, reflection, and gratitude to the Almighty.
Jewish Americans have been gathering for Shabbat since before this country was founded. This weekend we honor that 250-year legacy together — one people, one Shabbat, one historic weekend.
Here's how to be part of it:
🕯️ Light Shabbos candles — Candle lighting in San Pedro is at 7:29 PM Friday, May 15
🕍 Come to synagogue — bring a friend! — Class at 9:45 AM, Services at 10:15 AM, Saturday May 16
🥂 Join the Community Kiddush Luncheon — Kiddush at 12:15 PM
