In Acts 9:26-32, Paul arrives in Jerusalem, but the disciples are afraid to trust him. Barnabas speaks for Paul, sharing how he encountered Jesus and boldly preached in His name.

Rev. Dr. Stuart Gordon reminded us that the church is a community where we worship, learn, share meals, and pray together, united by one Lord and one faith. We are called to share our testimony and tell others about Jesus, who is risen and gives abundant life.

As Stuart begins his next chapter, we are grateful for his ministry among us and wish him every blessing ahead.

In Luke 13:10-17, Jesus saw a woman who had been suffering for years. While others may have overlooked her, Jesus called her forward, spoke to her, and healed her.

Rev. Jessica Vaughan Lower reminded us that Jesus still sees the people the world overlooks, rejects, or avoids. And as His followers, we’re called to do the same. To look beyond appearances, see people as children of God, and remind them that they are seen, known, and loved.

In her sermon, Rev. Jessica. Vaughan Lower challenged us to become more comfortable with the things that scare us. In Acts 9, Ananias knew Saul was dangerous and had every reason to be afraid, yet when God called him to go, Ananias went.

We heard about free solo climber Alex Honnold, who was able to take on incredible climbs through years of preparation and practice. In the same way, courage can grow as we become more willing to step into the things that scare us. Like Ananias and Harriet Tubman, we may be called to take a risk when the outcome is uncertain. If we don’t respond to where God is leading us, who will?

Rev. Jessica Vaughan Lower reminded us that even smart, talented people still wrestle with insecurity. She challenged us with the story of Jesus walking on the water to trust that God can work through our doubts and fears to accomplish his purpose in our lives.

Everyone like food, and everyone likes company. Our last “Taste n’ See” event for the Youth Group was all about Bread of Life. 🥖🍞🥐 …and Avocados 🥑 - and how to cut them, and most effectively mash them with plastic spoons.

Yesterday, Pastor Jessica shared a message on the generosity of the Good Samaritan from Luke 10, reminding us what it means to love our neighbors through action. Head over to our link in the bio to re-watch the service or find the sermon audio on your favorite podcast platform!

We were also blessed to share in communion and worship together, including singing “Majestic“ - lead by some of the kids who attended Vacation Bible School last week. What a wonderful Sunday!
