This passage serves as a reminder that there is a distinction between respecting established authority and rejecting personal hypocrisy. Matthew 9:10-13 reminds us that Jesus came for the broken. Instead of requiring us to have everything perfectly figured out, he offers radical mercy and healing. Christianity isn't a club for the self-righteous, it is instead a hospital for the hurting. Thank you to Pastor Chris Markert for sharing this message this past Sunday!

So often we ask, “What should you do?” That can be a helpful question to point you to the right thing to do, but it can also be limiting. “Should” makes us think that once we’ve done one good thing, we don’t need to do more.

But in God’s economy of grace, the question isn’t what we “should” do but what we “could” do to love another person.

This week, don’t ask, “What should you do?” but, “What could you do to love another person?”
