A Brief History of this Ministry:
Our ministry at this university began in 1915 with the formation of the Newman club which met at the local parish located next to campus. The Newman Club name changed to Catholic Student Organization in the Fall of 1969, the same year SWTSC changed to SWTSU. In 1993 our current facility was built after an exchange of land with the University. Grant Catholic Studen

t Center in honor of H.L. Grant, a businessman from Houston and friend of Bishop John McCarthy of Austin. In 2006 students asked Bishop Gregory Aymond on his visit to our facility why the it did not have a saint name like other chapels. That got the ball rolling and after a series of presentations and votes, the chapel was named St. Jude Chapel in early 2007. At the beginning of 2012, after consultation with our new Bishop, Joe Vasquez, and the Presbyteral Council, a group of priests who assist our Bishop on important matters in the diocese, we decided to take the steps necessary so that this ministry could be established as a parish independent of the local parish, St. Bishop Vasquez asked the community to discern what name we would suggest and why. We solicited nominations and voted on those narrowing the list down to 5. From this list Bishop Vasquez selected Our Lady Of Wisdom Catholic Center.

Antioch Summit: Aspire to Serve recap!

Student leaders, missionaries, and OLOW staff gathered this past Friday to pray, cast vision for the year ahead, consider what it means to live personal holiness, serve God and each other, and be faithful participants in the Body of Christ. Come Holy Spirit, because OLOW student leaders are coming to TXST campus to bring Christ to our brothers and sisters, and to bring our brothers and sisters to Christ!

Join us for Holy & Happy Hour coming up on Wednesday, August 5th.
Holy Hour, 6:30-7:30pm, will be a Eucharistic Adoration hour thanks for Father Jared, and accompanied by Holy music. 🎵
Afterwards we will gather for fellowship at Boxcar Social in San Marcos.

Hey San Marcos Young Adults!!

We hope this note finds you well, refreshed from the winter holidays, and going strong in your endeavors!
Last semester, we collected contact information after Sunday Mass for y’all who are interested in fellowshipping with other young Catholic adults in the San Marcos area. Well, thank you for your patience AND wait no longer! Our first official gathering is coming up on Friday, February 6th at Shade Rooftop Patio Bar! We hope to see you there. Young adults who are post-grad to age 40 are welcome, invite a friend or a few!
