We will be meeting Sunday, July 11, 2021. I will be teaching.
All of you on this list have cared for someone like a parent would at some point in your lives because God teaches us to love that way. Please see the list of beautiful scriptures below.
* Ephesians 6:4: "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."
* Proverbs 1:8: "Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching."
* 2 Corinthians 6:18: "And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty."
* Psalm 103:13: "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him."
* Proverbs 22:6: "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."
* 2 Samuel 7:14-15: "I will be a father to him, and he'll be a son to me. When he does wrong, I'll discipline him in the usual ways, the pitfalls and obstacles of this mortal life. But I'll never remove my gracious love from him."
* Proverbs 23:22: "Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old."
* Proverbs 23:24: "The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him."
* Psalm 32:7-8: "You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance."
* Proverbs 4:11-12: "I will guide you in the
way of wisdom and I will lead you in upright paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered, and when you run, you will not stumble."
* Luke 15:20: "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him."
* Deuteronomy 1:31: "There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place."
* Malachi 4:6: "He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers."
* Hebrews 12:7: "Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?"
All of you care for me like a father would, like family would, and I thank you all so much!
We will end this note with a prayer from the Book of Blessings by Prepared by International Commission on English in the Liturgy A Joint Commission of Catholic Bishops' Conferences, The Liturgical Press, Collegeville, Minnesota, 1989.
For our fathers, who have given us life and love, that we may show them respect and love, we pray to the Lord.
For fathers who have lost a child through death, that their faith may give them hope, and their family and friends support and console them, we pray to the Lord.
For fathers who have died, that God may bring them into the joy of his kingdom, we pray to the Lord.
God our Father, in your wisdom and love you made all things. Bless these men, that they may be strengthened as Christian fathers. Let the example of their faith and love shine forth. Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honor them always with a spirit of profound respect.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.
Amen. And may almighty God bless you all, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!!!!!!!
