Hey! Is anyone out there? I though I would resurrect this page today. ChurchUp used to be a church in San Marcos. We ran out of money because we gave too much stuff away. Not the best plan ever. Or maybe it really was. Anyway, I'm going to start posting some cool stuff from time to time. Maybe it will only help one person. It's worth it. I'll start by sharing with you the truth that Jesus loves you just the way you are! You are not a disappointment or a failure in his eyes. If someone told you that , you should find someone else to hang out with. We are all loved and valued. I hope that something I post helps you to feel like you belong. Because you do!!

I had a chance to hang out with Jesus the other day. Actually I was with somebody who acts just like Jesus. But I think that is how it works most of the time.
I went with a friend of mine to go visit her husband who is in an assisted living facility in San Antonio. He has had multiple strokes and requires full time care. She drives an hour each way, four or five times a week to see him and feels sad when she can't go.
He doesn't want to eat! Does he not want to be made well? That's a big problem. So she goes to be with him and tries to get him to eat something ,knowing that it's going about the same as pulling teeth, she goes. She goes and she goes because she loves and she loves some more! It's Holy!

Jesus comes to us. It's never too far, never too often. He comes and he comes! Sometimes is like pulling teeth but Jesus comes any way..... He knows we need to be fed. We need to be fed love and Grace and forgiveness and the power to forgive others. We yearn for the peace that the Bread of Life offers us.

Sometimes we don't want to eat. Why??? Do we not want to be made well?

He comes back anyway.....

This morning I was watching the news about the tragic event in France. When I was younger I had the pleasure of traveling there. My wife has actually been to NIce. She told me that it was beautiful. When these things happen we feel offended and our way of life feels threatened. My prayers go out to you and the people of France, but there is more. People all over the world are victims of violence everyday. Are we as upset when someone sets off a bomb in places where we haven't been? Does God love us more than the people in Bagdad? How many people put the Iraqi or Turkish flag on their page? Jesus calls us to love our neighbor and pray for our enemies. That crazy Jesus is always asking us to do stuff that we don't understand. I call these these things "Holy Disruptions." I hope you have time today to have one. There is no them, there is only us!! peace, kp
