Good day, Dharma Friends,

Today we will be having lay service at the Temple at 11am. Followed by a social.

Please find this week’s Dharma message from Rev. Naomi Nakano.

Part 1 of 2. Titled, ‘I will not surrender.’
Often in life the circumstances are not favorable to move forward. It is through determination and perseverance that one can find the way. Like finding the way through ‘Nembutsu,’ while it may not be easy, there is always a path.

Thank you for tuning in! Do not forget to like and subscribe to the YouTube channel and/or page, if you have not.

Good day, Dharma Friends,

Please find this week’s Dharma message from Rev. Naomi Nakano.

Part 2 of 2. Due to our causes and conditions, the mistakes in life can cause setbacks. These can be seen as signs that we are swaying from the middle path. Through the Nembutsu we are reminded of the middle way. By life’s circumstances, these lessons show us how our awareness and attention can be directed elsewhere. The teachings come from slowing down just enough to focus on the middle path to find the way.

Thank you for tuning in! Don’t forget to like and subscribe to the YouTube channel and/or page, if you haven’t.

Good morning, Dharma Friends,

Stay tuned for May’s SLOBC schedule to come out shortly.

Please join us today for Lay services to be held at 11am at San Luis Obispo Buddhist Church.

Also, reminders of our Blood Drive Today, Walk-in’s are welcomed. 🕥 10:30 AM – 2:15 PM

For those that are not in the area or cannot attend today’s service. Please refer to Rev. Naomi Nakano’s Dharma message.

Part 1 of 2. In life we can have constant setbacks, sometimes for good, sometimes for bad. Spilling the milk could have simply been a matter of accumulating circumstances that favored the mishap. Sometimes we can create the cause and conditions, whether intentional or unintentional, that can lead us to unfavorable events. It is what we do, after, to regulate that the true ‘nembutsu’ teachings come into play.

Thank you for tuning in! Don’t forget to like and subscribe to the YouTube channel and/or page, if you haven’t.

Good Day, Dharma Friends,

Please refer to Rev. Naomi Nakano’s Dharma message for this week on the cracks in the trees.

As one grows, like trees, our thoughts and progression evolve and begin to outlive old ways. As a tree sheds its bark, so do we outgrow ideas to develop. It is in the nembutsu that we can be guided to greener pastures.

Thank you for tuning in! Don’t forget to like and subscribe to the YouTube channel and/or page, if you haven’t.

Good morning, Dharma Friends,

Please join us today for Lay services to be held at 11am at San Luis Obispo Buddhist Church.

Today we will be posting part 2 of last week’s Dharma message by Rev. Naomi Nakano.

Trust in Yourself. While perfectionism often brings rigidity and loosens flexibility in being ‘Good Enough’. By accepting this concept, it creates a small step into self-acceptance. As imperfect beings, compassion in oneself can be the steppingstone to growth. And as that veil of comfort (zone) begins to fade we can start to see ourselves in others and realize we are all on a similar path. In Namu Amida Butsu.

Thank you all for tuning in! Don’t forget to like and subscribe to the YouTube channel and/or page, if you haven’t.
