Trinity Church

Trinity Church At Trinity, we are what we are, and do what we do, because God first loved us in Christ.

As we grow in our experience of God’s love, we learn to express it with vigor, enthusiasm, and passion as we love God, love one another, and love the world.

We can take away from the cross's power when we try to sanitize it. Throughout the next several weeks, we're thinking together about what the cross is. It's a perfect way to move towards Easter.

03/08/2023

When we sanitize the cross, we drain it of its power. Come join us at Trinity Church in SLO to hear more about why the cross changed the world. We meet at 9am and 11am at 1301 Osos St.

The crucifixion of Jesus Christ stands as a paradoxical event at the center of human history. While the Romans executed thousands of people, the vast majority of whom were immediately forgotten to history, Jesus is the one exception whose name and story have not only endured, but have gone on to shape the values of western society and the lives of billions of people.

The cross represents a meeting point of seemingly opposing forces - the love and justice of God, the wisdom of God and the foolishness of humanity, and the power of God demonstrated in weakness.

Join us this Sunday as we take a new look at the meaning of the cross.

As the surf gets big around the Central Coast, we're reminded of the power of creation. While our own internal and external waves roll, we have a God who is bigger than the waves of overwhelm, anxiety, or fear. Everywhere we look, creation reminds us of God's care. We hope you'll join us on a Sunday at 9am or 11am to be reminded of God's kind care.

This Wednesday, February 22, marks the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. On Ash Wednesday we remember our frailty, our bodily constraints and our mortality. In so doing, we enter into anticipation of Jesus' triumph over sin and even death itself.

Many Christians through the ages have followed the church calendar as a way to focus their liturgy. While this isn't a requirement, it can help us practice waiting for the goodness of Good Friday and the hope of the resurrection on Easter.

Have you practiced Lent before?

This Sunday: a Psalm for Generation Alpha.

Born after 2013, we don’t know much about this generation yet. Demographic trends indicate that Alphas will inherit a world that looks very different than the one inhabited by earlier generations.

Psalm 127 reminds us that God's faithfulness is the foundation upon which we build, and the base that allows us to thrive no matter the circumstances. Join us this Sunday as we conclude our “Generations on Mission” series, exploring the strengths and challenges each generation faces as we participate in God’s mission together.

The life Jesus offers is an abundant life. Jesus said he came that his followers might have life and have it abundantly. We often think of abundant life as ease and comfort. While comfort isn't promised to us, Jesus is. That means that the smallest things we do and the most monumental all have meaning in God's kingdom.

Come and get a taste of this abundant life with us at Trinity Church. Our weekly liturgy is rich, full of scripture, prayers, communion, song and preaching that bring us to Jesus each Sunday. We meet at 9 am and 11 am at 1301 Osos St.

In a world that feels like it's culturally shifting all the time, it's important to be grounded. At Trinity Church, we seek to be grounded in the Word of God and soft towards God and others.

We've just started a 9-week Discipleship course meeting on Thursday nights. We eat together, pray, and grow in emotional and spiritual health. This is just one way we're working at being grounded in the truth of God -- and we do it together.
