What started as a simple idea to create Christ-centered, high-energy camps where kids and students can encounter Jesus, build friendships, and grow in their faith has now connected with more than 500 people on Instagram.

Thank you.

Every follow, share, comment, prayer, volunteer hour, and camp registration helps us reach more young people with the hope of Christ.

But we’re not stopping at 500.

Our next goal is 1,000 followers, and there’s a reason beyond just seeing another number on a screen. Once we reach 1,000 followers, we’ll be able to do more live content, share camp experiences in real time, highlight testimonies, introduce our leaders and counselors, and bring more of the Outsiders community into what God is doing throughout the year.

Want to help?

âś… Follow
âś… Share this post to your story
âś… Tag a friend, parent, pastor, or youth leader
âś… Invite others who believe in investing in the next generation

Together, let’s reach 1,000 and continue sharing the story of what God is doing through Outsiders Camps.

“Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.” Psalm 96:3 (NIV)

Today we are grateful for Mindymay Bennett and the compassion, care, and calm she brings to Outsiders Camps.

Mindymay was introduced to our program through our friends in the Central California Nazarene District, and we are so thankful for Lemoore Nazarene sharing her with us. Her willingness to serve as our camp medic and lifeguard helps create a safe, caring, and Christ-centered environment for our campers, leaders, and families.

At camp, ministry happens in all kinds of ways. Sometimes it looks like worship and teaching. Sometimes it looks like discipleship conversations and prayer. Sometimes it looks like a bandage, a watchful eye by the water, or helping a camper through the most contagious potential outbreak known to camp ministry: homesickness.

And if you ever want to hear about the worst epidemic, just ask Pastor Ken Lewis from Ridgecrest. We will let him tell that story.

Because of faithful leaders like Mindymay, students are cared for, families are supported, leaders are strengthened, and the love of Christ is shown in practical and powerful ways.

Faithful care matters. Safety matters. Compassion matters. Serving the whole person matters.

Today we are grateful for Geebel Arevalo and the faithful way she shares Christ’s love through Outsiders Camps.

Geebel has continued to follow the call to serve with a heart that is open to where the Spirit leads. Her willingness to step in, love people well, encourage others, and point students and leaders toward Jesus has been such a blessing to this ministry.

At Outsiders Camps, we believe camp ministry is about more than a week on the calendar. It is about creating space for people to experience the love of Christ, grow in faith, build lasting community, and be reminded that they are seen, known, and loved by God.

Because of faithful leaders like Geebel, the Kingdom is being built. Discipleship is happening. Students are being encouraged. Leaders are being strengthened. Lives are being changed for eternity.

We are thankful for her heart, her faithfulness, her joy, and her willingness to serve wherever God opens the door.

Faithful love matters. Spirit-led service matters. Discipleship matters. Building the Kingdom for eternity matters.

Grateful for every camper, counselor, CIT, worship leader, pastor, parent, and prayer warrior who helps make moments like this possible.

Camp is more than games, songs, and a few very questionable snack choices, because apparently growing disciples also requires sugar. It is sacred ground where students hear the truth of Jesus, learn what it means to follow Him, and are reminded that their identity is not found in this world, but in Christ.

Philippians 3:20 reminds us, “our citizenship is in heaven.” That is why we gather, worship, pray, serve, and pour into the next generation. We are helping raise up young people who know they belong to Jesus and are called to live differently because of Him.

Thank you to every leader who keeps showing up with humility, joy, prayer, and a commitment to build the Kingdom for eternity.

Today we are grateful for Pastor Alan Arevalo from Oxnard Church of the Nazarene.

Pastor Alan is another ordained elder in our district who believes deeply in the importance of camp ministry and the way God uses these sacred spaces to reach, teach, and disciple young people. He has been a day one Outsider, faithfully reminding us that our citizenship is in heaven and that our lives should point others to Jesus.

Through the years, Pastor Alan has served as a camp speaker, worship leader, and encourager to our students and leaders. Now, as the director of our new Worship Academy, he is helping disciple youth, raise up young worship leaders, and build the Kingdom of God for eternity.

Because of leaders like Pastor Alan, students are being taught the Word, led in worship, challenged in faith, and invited to use their gifts for the glory of God.

Faithful teaching matters. Worship matters. Discipleship matters. Investing in the next generation matters.

Today we are grateful for Pastor Stephanie Rogers and her heart to share Christ through Outsiders Camps.

Pastor Stephanie’s willingness to serve, pray, lead, and minister reminds us that camp ministry is not only about children and youth. It is about the whole body of Christ being invited into the work God is doing. Students are being discipled, leaders are being strengthened, families are being encouraged, and people of all ages are being drawn closer to Jesus.

Because of faithful leaders like Pastor Stephanie, the Kingdom is being built. Prayer is being practiced. Discipleship is happening. Lives are being changed today, and eternity is being impacted through the love and truth of Christ.

We are thankful for her commitment to prayer, her desire to share Jesus, and her willingness to serve wherever God opens the door.

Faithful ministry matters. Prayerful leadership matters. Discipleship matters. Building the Kingdom for eternity matters.

“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Philippians 3:20 NIV

We are Outsiders because this world is not our final home.

Our identity is not built on popularity, comfort, status, fear, or fitting in. Our citizenship is in heaven, and because of Jesus, we are called to live differently here and now.

Not different so we can look better than anyone else.

Different because Christ loved us first.
Different because His sacrifice changed everything.
Different because our words should carry grace, our choices should reflect truth, and our deeds should point people back to Him.

Being an Outsider does not mean standing apart in pride. It means walking through this world with heaven in our hearts, Christ as our example, and love as the evidence.

Known by our words.
Known by our deeds.
Known by His love.

🎉 Welcome the 2026 Counselor in Training Academy Class! 🎉

We are so excited to celebrate this amazing group of students who have been accepted into this year’s Outsiders Camps CIT Academy!

This is more than a summer program. This is leadership formation. This is faith being stretched. This is students learning to serve, lead, pray, encourage, and help create the kind of camp experience where kids can encounter the love of Jesus.

As they prepare for CIT Academy and Kids Camp, we are asking our Outsiders family to celebrate them, pray for them, and pray for their families.

“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord.”Ephesians 6:7

“Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”1 Corinthians 11:1

We believe God has big plans for each of these young leaders, and this is just the beginning.

Discipleship in action.

Today we are grateful for Cathy Coleman and the incredible blessing she has been to Outsiders Camps.

Cathy has helped us with her accounting expertise, bringing fiscal accountability, transparency, and care to the work behind the scenes. Her wisdom and attention to detail have helped strengthen the foundation of this ministry in ways that may not always be visible, but absolutely matter.

We are also deeply thankful for Cathy and Burbank Faith as they helped shepherd Outsiders Camps through this past season, parenting the program over the last year and a half with faithfulness, patience, and support. Their care has helped us grow stronger, wiser, and more prepared for what God is continuing to build.

Cathy’s help with insurance, AB 506 compliance, financial systems, and organizational accountability has been amazing. Because of faithful leaders like her, the ministry is better protected, better prepared, and better positioned to serve kids, youth, families, and leaders with excellence.

This is Kingdom work too. The prayers matter. The preaching matters. The spreadsheets matter. The compliance work matters. The quiet, faithful service that protects the mission matters.

We are grateful for Cathy, for Burbank Faith, and for the way they have helped care for Outsiders Camps in this important season.

Faithful stewardship matters. Transparency matters. Protecting young people matters. Serving behind the scenes matters.
