THANK YOU!

Every follow helps us reach another family, another camper, another future leader, and another person who might discover just how powerful a few days at camp can be.

TAKE. ME. BACK. TO. CAMP. 🏕️💙💛

Take me back to the laughter that somehow never stopped.

Take me back to worship with my friends.

Take me back to cabin conversations, ridiculous games, meals around the table, praying for each other, and those moments when God felt incredibly close.

But maybe what we really miss isn’t just camp.

Maybe we miss the community we found there.

Scripture says, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”
Psalm 133:1 NIV

And Jesus reminds us that something powerful happens when His people gather in His name:

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Matthew 18:20 NIV

Camp gives us a glimpse of what life in Christian community can look like. We worship together. We pray together. We laugh together. We carry one another when things get hard. We remind each other that we belong to Jesus.

Then Friday comes way too quickly.

So if you’ve been scrolling through your camera roll, texting your camp friends, wearing your camp shirt for the third time this week, or randomly thinking…

“Take me back to camp.”

We get it.

You might just be a little CAMP SICK. 💙

And apparently, there’s no cure except staying connected to Jesus and your people until we get everyone back together again. 😉

PRAYER IS POWERFUL. 🙏

Some of the most important moments at camp will never appear on a schedule.

A counselor praying with a camper.
Friends gathering around one another.
A young person learning they can talk directly to God.
Leaders quietly praying over the next generation.

These moments matter because prayer changes things, and prayer changes us.

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
James 5:16 NIV

At Outsiders Camps, Pray Boldly isn’t just part of our Creed. It is foundational to who we are. We pray before camp begins. We surround every hour of camp in prayer. We teach our campers to pray. And we pray believing that what God begins in a few days at camp can impact a life for eternity.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.” Matthew 19:14 NIV

That is ultimately what every prayer, every conversation, every worship service and every moment at camp is about: bringing young people closer to Jesus.

Because years from now, they may forget the games. They may forget what was served for dinner. They may even forget the names of everyone in their cabin.

But our prayer is that they never forget the Jesus they encountered here.

Take us back to camp. 💙💛🎶

Back to a space full of voices singing together.
Back to hands raised.
Back to friendships being built.
Back to those moments when the distractions faded and our attention turned completely toward Jesus.

There’s something special about worship at camp. It isn’t about the stage, the lights, or even the songs. It’s about creating space for a generation to know Jesus and respond to Him.

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.” Psalm 95:6 NIV

We’re thankful for every member of our worship team who uses their gifts to lead, serve, and point our campers toward Christ.

Seriously though… take us back. 🙌🏕️

Prayer isn’t something we add to camp. Prayer is part of the foundation. 🙏💙💛

At Outsiders Camps, we believe prayer is powerful because the God we pray to is powerful.

Before campers arrive, we pray.
While they worship, learn, laugh and build friendships, we pray.
When they are struggling, we pray.
When God is moving, we pray.
And long after everyone goes home, we keep praying.

Scripture tells us, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16 NIV

That is why PRAY BOLDLY is part of the Outsiders Creed. It is why hundreds of people surround our camps in prayer through and . And it is why we want every young person who comes through Outsiders to learn that prayer isn’t reserved for pastors, counselors or adults. They can come boldly before God, too.

We don’t just want kids to experience a great week at camp. We want them to Know Jesus. Love People. Pray Boldly. Build Leaders. Live Different.

Because we don’t build camps. We build Kingdom leaders.

That’s the Outsiders Way.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Pastor Ken Lewis! 🎂💙💛

For nearly 20 years, Pastor Ken has faithfully poured into camp ministry across the Los Angeles District, investing in young people, developing leaders, serving wherever needed, and helping create spaces where people can encounter Jesus.

Today, he is an integral part of the Outsiders Camps leadership team, and we are incredibly grateful for the experience, wisdom, consistency, humor, and heart for ministry he brings to our camp family.

Camp ministry doesn’t happen because of buildings, schedules, games, or even an unreasonable quantity of coffee. It happens because faithful people keep showing up and choosing to invest in the next generation.

Pastor Ken is one of those people.

“Serve the LORD with gladness.” Psalm 100:2

Happy Birthday, Pastor Ken! Thank you for nearly two decades of saying yes to camp ministry and for continuing to help us Know Jesus. Love People. Pray Boldly. Build Leaders. Live Different.

Take me back to camp. 💙💛

Back to worship. Back to laughter. Back to late nights, loud voices, ridiculous amounts of energy, and being surrounded by some of my favorite people.

And somebody cue up Church Clap because apparently I’m ready to do this all over again. 👏🙌

There’s just something different about camp. Friendships get stronger, memories get made, and somewhere in the middle of all the chaos, God keeps showing up.

Missing my camp people today. Who’s ready to go back? 🏕️
