We turned 7 years old this week! As we look back at the journey of SLO City Church — we recognize the grace and faithfulness of God. Through 12 different locations over 7 years — the Lord has refined us, formed and fashioned us for what’s ahead. Jesus builds His Church and we are grateful to be a part of a movement of God in the city, for the city, for generations to come.

This Sunday we launch services at a new location — 1775 Calle Joaquin — 9am, 10.45am and 6pm on Sundays — but with the same hope in our chests. Jesus is Lord and Savior — and there is Hope For Everyone.

Keep watch for your faith — by holding apathy at bay. Keep nourished in truth and grace and servant-heartedness — by pursuing justice and mercy — by walking humbly with Christ.

We’re on week 3, day 2 of our 21 days of prayer. We’re leaning in to the ways the Lord desires to showed us forward.

Last night we hosted an open house at the new location for SLO City Church. We are good food, reflected on the past, met new friends and launched something new.

We are so in awe of the faithfulness of God — for the grace of Christ — for the opportunity ahead. As a friend shouted last night after worship, “here’s to new beginnings!”

One week till our first service at 1775 Calle Joaquin — it’s hard to describe all the emotions we are feeling — but we are overwhelmed by God’s faithfulness and the opportunity ahead!

Our last Sunday at 1500 Lizzie Street demands a full 20 photo scroll — and a few comments.

For 58 weeks we gathered together in a gym, built in 1954, and experienced the provision and power of God. 76 people were baptized in this place. Hundreds of kids met new friends and grew in faith. Those searching for meaning discovered it — those looking belonging found a family — those desperate for hope met Jesus.

As we move from this place — we remain focused on the mission to be a collection of people, living the way of Jesus, bringing hope to everyone.

Next week we move to 1775 Calle Joaquin remembering where we’ve been — being marked by this season — and focused on Jesus and the mission ahead. Love God. love People.
