Today, we celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr., a remarkable American to whom we owe a great debt. Let us work hard to make his dream a reality in our community!

Congrats to our grads & happy summer to all!

Mark would like to pass the torch of administration to an interested current leader of the FPCSLO Youth Group/Ministries but he doesn't know how in a technical sense because my phone doesn't allow me to access this group as an administrator unless when FB sends me an invitation to post... Can anyone help me get the word to Ryan or Jen? Please & thank you.

Love & kindness? Loving kindness.

Best wishes, love & blessings to all.

The skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus rex was discovered in South Dakota on this date in 1990. It’s the largest T. rex skeleton ever discovered, and it’s more than 90 percent complete. The remains include a “wishbone,” which helps to prove the theory that our modern-day birds are descended from dinosaurs. A paleontologist named Susan Hendrickson made the discovery entirely by accident; while waiting for some of her colleagues to change a flat tire, she spotted three large bones sticking out from the side of a cliff on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation. The 65-million-year-old dinosaur specimen was dubbed “Sue” in her honor. Sue the T. rex is now a permanent resident of Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History. She — or he — is 40 feet long and 13 feet tall at the hips. It’s estimated that Sue weighed more than seven tons while she was alive.

Happy Summer!

I am Corinna Espino, and the new interim youth director at First Pres! I just wanted to reach out to connect, and let you know of the happenings this week for the youth.

Tomorrow, Thursday June 11th, I will have office hours from 12-5pm at the church in the 3rd floor youth office. Swing by to say hi…snacks and jokes are being offered free of charge :)

This Sunday, June 14th, we will be continuing youth group, same bat time, same bat station. Arrival time begins around 5:30, and we will be ending at 7:30! Parents, you are invited to join us at 7pm so I can get to know you all as well!

The last event coming up is Wednesday, June 17th from 5:30-7pm. The church is hosting a fellowship evening, including dinner, and break-out sessions for children through adults. Come have dinner as a family, then the youth are invited to spend the evening on the youth floor with me, while parents can enjoy their group.

Excited for the summer, and looking forward to being refreshed and renewed in His name! Hope to see and meet all of you soon!
