The United Church of Christ, Congregational, of San Luis Obispo is an inclusive Christian church. We have a rich tradition, starting with the Congregationalists, of diversity, inclusiveness and social justice. We believe that "God is Still Speaking" to us through the message and ministry of Jesus Christ. The UCC Church was the first to ordain a Black minister; the first to ordain a woman minister and the first to ordain a gay minister.

Meet us here, Worker God; strengthen our hearts and our hands to work with you in the building of a world filled with justice and peace. Amen.

After the ancient Israelites were liberated from enslavement in Egypt, they wandered in the wilderness for years. They started complaining about food, even though God made sure that they had food to eat every day. Barbara Brown Taylor reminds us that God doesn’t always provide us with what we want, but what we need. Life-giving gifts of grace are all around us. It’s up to us to recognize and receive them.
