The book of Luke starts out with the arrival of Jesus on Earth. Its always surprising to see who God included in this part of the story- not the powerful, rich, or culturally "important". He centers the story around normal people like you and me.

This sets the tone for all of Jesus life. Because eventually Jesus is going to include other unlikely characters:
lepers
women
children
foreigners
sinners
the poor
tax collectors
the socially rejected
people everyone else has written off.

What if one of the first ways Jesus changes us is by changing who we notice?

Sometimes we think hope means looking away from the problems of the world.
We close our eyes to the suffering because it's too painful to look at.
But biblical hope does the opposite.
Biblical hope gives us the courage to look directly at the brokenness and still believe that brokenness doesn't get the final word.

What if following Jesus means more than believing in Him, it means learning to live like Him?

As we study the life of Jesus through the book of Luke, we’re paying attention to how He lived, who He noticed, how He loved, and what He proclaimed.

Because we need to know how Jesus lived if we want to live like Jesus.

He proclaimed good news, brought hope to the hurting, welcomed the outsider, challenged injustice, and showed people what the love of God looks like.

And now, we get to follow His example.

Know His way. Walk His way. Live His way.
