Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, was a high-level combat sports champion and legendary coach.
• He was a Sambo champion (the Russian martial art) and held titles in Combat Sambo.
• He was also a judo master and former wrestler.
• More importantly, he became one of the most respected MMA coaches in the world, training not only Khabib but multiple world champions.
• He was honored as a Distinguished Coach of Russia.

Many people say Khabib’s discipline, mindset, and dominance came largely from his father’s strict training philosophy and life guidance. 🥋

اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَؤُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ

ترجمه فارسی:

خداست که جز او معبودی نیست؛ زنده و پاینده است. نه خوابی سبک او را می‌گیرد و نه خوابی سنگین. آنچه در آسمان‌ها و آنچه در زمین است از آنِ اوست. کیست که جز به اذن او در نزدش شفاعت کند؟ آنچه پیش روی آنان و آنچه پشت سرشان است می‌داند، و به چیزی از علم او احاطه نمی‌یابند مگر آنچه خود بخواهد. کرسی او آسمان‌ها و زمین را فراگرفته است، و نگهداری آن دو او را خسته نمی‌کند؛ و او بلندمرتبه و بزرگ است.

King Najāshī (also spelled Negus, Ashama ibn Abjar) was the Christian ruler of the Kingdom of Aksum (in present-day Ethiopia and Eritrea) during the early years of Islam. He is remembered in Islamic history as a just and compassionate king who granted refuge to the first group of Muslims fleeing persecution in Mecca.

Why Muslims fled to him

Around year 615 CE, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ advised some of his followers—who were being severely persecuted by the Quraysh—to migrate to Abyssinia (Aksum). He said, “There is a king in Abyssinia under whom no one is wronged.”

What Najāshī did
• He allowed the Muslim refugees to live safely in his kingdom.
• When the Quraysh sent envoys to demand their return, Najāshī refused to hand them over after listening to Ja‘far ibn Abī Ṭālib recite verses from the Qur’an about Maryam (Mary) and ‘Īsā (Jesus).
• He declared that the message of Islam and Christianity came from the same divine source.

His relationship with Islam

Most early Muslim sources state that Najāshī accepted Islam privately, and when he died, the Prophet ﷺ performed a funeral prayer in absentia (Salāt al-Janāzah al-Gha’ib) for him—an honor rarely given.
