It is entirely possible that a church that is shrinking is actually a church that is getting healthier. You can't judge by appearances and you have to ask the question: why is the church smaller than it used to be? Equating growth or even maintenance of numbers with health is only tempting church leaders to say whatever it takes to get people in the door. The casualty of such an approach is bound to be the complete Word of God.

Hey, Shepherd of the Valley friends! Hope you are able to join us for Soup Supper and Evening Prayer tonight at 6 and 7 PM respectively. Please enter the parish hall for the soup supper by the back parking lot doors. The wind storm yesterday caused quite a bit of damage to the trees near the kitchen doors and they are currently blocked off.
