Father Tito Cartagenas, Jr. has been pastor of the Church of the Transfiguration since 2014 and has been assigned to St. Julie Billiart Parish in the Santa Teresa neighborhood as of July 1, 2024. The Staff, Parish Community and the Igbo Community joined together to say goodbye and thank him for all he has done. The Master of Ceremonies of the event was parishioner, Susan Glenfield, who also put together the Farewell Video of memories and well wishes from all. Much love and best wishes to Fr. Tito as he starts a new chapter in his ministry. Thank you, Fr. Tito for answering His call.

We have almost a month left before the Quo Vadis retreat. We invite the teenage boys, ages 14-17 years old, to this retreat to allow the Lord to speak to them regarding their vocation. This retreat will also help them consider a vocation to the priesthood. For those who would like to participate, you can go to this link to register: https://www.dsj.org/catholic-life/vocations/retreats/quo-vadis/

We would like to wish Fr. Tito a Happy 14th Anniversary to the priesthood. Thank you so much for all you do! God Bless...

The Children’s Liturgy of the Word is an invitation for all children ages 5-8 years old to gather together to hear and learn about
God’s Word during our 9:30am Mass. We are now taking a Summer Break. Format when it resumes: Leaders will read the
Sunday Gospel and discuss its meaning and provide a handout from Holy Heroes to take home—check out their website for

A new documentary feature film JESUS THIRSTS: THE MIRACLE OF THE EUCHARIST is coming to U.S. movie theaters nationwide June 4, 5, and 6. The film, co-sponsored by the Diocese of Orange, is a project led by executive producer Deacon Steve Greco and producers James Wahlberg and Tim Moriarty. In Jesus Thirsts: The Miracle of the Eucharist, we embark on a global journey to rediscover and revive the transformative power of the Eucharist. Engaging in dialogue with notable Catholic figures as Dr. Scott Hahn, Fr. Robert Spitzer, The Marian Fathers, Curtis Martin, the Sisters of Life, Chris Stefanick, Sr. Briege McKenna and Dan DeMatte, the film explores the biblical origins of the Eucharist and shares personal stories of individuals whose lives have been transformed by the Blessed Sacrament. This exploration makes it unmistakably clear that the Eucharist is not merely a symbol, but is indeed Jesus Christ Himself — fervently desiring to quench our spiritual thirst with His boundless love. The universality of our faith as One Body of Christ is very much reflected with the many diverse storylines from Poland, Italy, Africa, Bosnia, and Vietnam. The film includes prominent Spanish voices including Mexican actor and pro-life activist Eduardo Verástegui; Cuban-American filmmaker and philanthropist Oscar Delgado; and Noel Díaz, the founder of El Sembrador Ministries.
